Alpine Rock B&B

Alpine Rock is a cozy and quiet house surrounded in nature, just a 5-minute drive from Te Anau. While Jeff and Jan were excellent hosts, and we truly enjoyed meeting them, Eddie stole the show as the best host, making sure we could pet him to our hearts’ content. Breakfast was exceptional—healthy, delicious, and served right on schedule. Our stay at Alpine Rock was heartwarming, and we’ll definitely return if we are ever in Te Anau again.

Some minor internet connection issues that they are already aware of, by no means this was any problem for us.

Jeff and Jan were hospitable hosts! We love the little morning chats during breakfasts and the serene surrounding. Room was spacious and very clean and the bathroom heater was efficient.

The house and surroundings were beautiful and so comfy. The wisteria suite was great bed so comfy too. Jeff and Jan made us feel at home and Jeff made a scrumptious breakfast. Eddie the dog was an extra treat!

We stayed for two nights in the Rose Room with Jeff and Jan as our onsite hosts. Everything was as described in hotel website and positive reviews. Very comfortable bed and higher end amenities. The hot tub was sparkling clean and the breakfasts & morning conversations a delight. Their onsite kitty and small doggie were an added bonus. It is clear these hosts make hospitality and guest comfort their highest priority. We look forward to our return visit and highly recommend.

Facilities and guestfriendly

Jan and Jeff welcomed us warmly and we enjoyed sitting on their deck chatting with them, enjoying refreshments and learning about the area for some time after our arrival. Jeff made us a delicious breakfast the next day and assured us that the rain was a perfect introduction for our trip to Milford Sound. He was right! The waterfalls were spectacular. He kindly allowed us to leave our suitcases at the B&B because luggage was restricted on our boat. We would recommend Alpine Rock B&B without hesitation.

While a little bit outside of the nearby town, it was close enough to be very convenient to restaurants & shops, while being far enough away to be quiet and in a beautiful, natural setting. Jeff and Jan were so welcoming, helpful and accommodating. The room and shared areas were comfortable and inviting, the hot tub was a huge plus! We had freshly baked croissants every morning as part of a simple, yet delicious continental breakfast.

Jeff and Jan were superb hosts. We loved the attention to detail and quality that they put into their place. They obviously love it very much and that shows! We especially enjoyed sitting on the veranda, taking in the stunning views, enjoying the tea and cake, and the great company of Jeff (and Eddie and Frankie the dog and cat!) 10/10 would recommend!
