Alpine Rock B&B

This Bed and Breakfast was outstanding. Jan and Jeff provided us with a restful stay in a bucolic setting. Everything we needed was available. We felt welcomed. We had a very early start so Jeff provided a delightful breakfast to go. The gardens were wonderful. The overall stay was restful and so peaceful.

We had a wonderful stay at the Alpine Rock B&B in Te Anau and would highly recommend it. The rooms were exactly as described and extremely clean! Each room has a small fridge with a small freezer (fit two freezer packs). The bed was very comfy and included both softer and harder pillows, as well as an extra blanket and a heated mattress pad, which would be awesome in colder weather. We stayed in the Wisteria room, which has a private bathroom (not ensuite) across the hall--it's actually a separate toilet room, and then a room with a shower, a soaking tub (bath salts provided) and a sink. The Rose suite has an ensuite bathroom. Jeff's breakfasts were delicious! He made homemade yogurt and fresh croissants each morning, as well as providing various fresh fruit, two types of granola, juice & water, tea and coffee, jams and butter. SO yummy! Jan and Jeff met us when we arrived and showed us around. They were available if we had questions, but otherwise, gave us our privacy. They were great at recommending restaurants and Jeff even rinsed our rental car when we asked if there was a car wash in town--talk about "going above and beyond". The location was great for trips to Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, Lord of the Rings filming locations, or hiking & walking. We would highly recommend Alpine Rock B&B!

Per night price for 2 was greater than other similar experiences on our South Island tour.

Absolutely fabulous host, very quiet spot as just 5 minutes out of town with beautifully kept garden & lovely gazebo to sit under. Comfortable clean room with on suite & tea / coffee making facilities. Lovely little basket of fruit & biscuits as well. super breakfast ,Would definitely stay again

Staying at Jeff and Jan’s place was an exceptional and memorable experience.not only is their B&B comfortable and peaceful, it is one of the cleanest B&Bs I have ever experienced. This is a true B&B in the old fashioned sense of the word, with breakfast made for you each morning specially, and rooms and bathrooms cleaned daily. Evenings provide access to the inside and outside grounds, which are exceptionally manicured and relaxing. Our very highest recommendation for this exquisite place to stay!

Jeff & Jan made me very welcome like a home from home. I can only give this property my highest marks and recommend it to any one in the area

Beautiful comfortable room in a lovely garden with views of the mountains. Excellent breakfast and it was so nice to meet Jan and Jeff who put every effort into making our stay fantastic with lots of local recommendations and route suggestions
