Ocean Mist Leith

Lovely. Full of atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. My room wasn't big but it was full of character and had everything I needed. The bar is great - well made cocktails, lovely room, nice view. I'd very happily stay again.

Ocean Mist is a delightful, unpretentious, compact floating hotel in the heart Leith. Absolutely faultless. One of those hidden gems that you want to keep to yourself; so, I'm only telling you. We shall likely meet you there someday as I shall definitely be back more than once.

A brilliant 2 night stay with my wife for my birthday where they had balloons and chocolates on my bed at check in. Pleasant, polite staff and a great continental breakfast. Very clean room. Cocktails are brilliant too. Lots of bars nearby but I have to recommend Dùthchas for high end food as well as Tuechters Landing for great pub food and atmosphere. Parking right outside too which is free in Leith from 1730 Fridays until 0800 Mondays.

Fantastic experience old mine sweeper which has been casino and bar before becoming boutique hotel. Very cosy rooms , our cabin had a beautifully comfy bed and complimentary water. What was odd was the sloping floors and ceilings particularly in the bathroom. Spotlessly clean and shower modern and piping hot. Only 17 rooms and bar on the top floor which looks out down the water of Leith , we booked to be certain of a seat as open to outside guests and enjoyed a cocktail as the sun set. Would be lovely to revisit in summer and sit outside. Breakfast was continental, cheese ham , smoked salmon, some lovely fruit pots and various pastries. The almond croissants in particular were massive. Staff really friendly and felt like a really special treat.

What an incredible stay at Ocean Mist. I could easily write several pages, but I won’t spoil too much for others — all I can say is wow. From the moment you step aboard you’re greeted by friendly, smart staff. The décor is second to none; every meticulous detail is either hand-crafted or clearly created with real thought. The cabins are pristine, and everything you could possibly need is there. Even the hand-stamped toilet rolls, folded into little sailboats, were a magnificent touch. Evening drinks on the bridge were a highlight, with some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had and attentive staff who genuinely went the extra mile. Breakfast was unreal — the cheese and bacon bread especially went down a treat. I was fascinated by the history, so I spent some time looking through the photo books and learning the story behind the vessel, and I’m so glad I did. At breakfast I recognised a familiar face, and realised it was the owner’s son. Being part of the project, he took the time to talk with us — a humbling, memorable experience. William is a credit to his family: bright, intelligent and passionate. It was refreshing to see someone so invested in both the heritage and the guest experience. Mr Pedley, you should be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved. To Alan and Nadia — your son William is a testament to your hard work and values. I can’t wait to recommend Ocean Mist to my clients, and I’m excited to see your future projects. Thank you for the hospitality and the unforgettable experience. We will be back.

From arrival to departure the welcome, the staff, the rooms, the breakfast and overall ambience was perfect. Thank you. Easy access from airport (tram), central Edinburgh (tram) and plenty to do even if you just stay put. Many good restaurants opposite the Ocean Mist.

Fantastic stay at the Ocean Mist in Leith for my husbands 60th birthday, the room was decorated on arrival which made it extra special & the room was amazing and spotlessly clean......thank you, would definately recommend.

We had a great time during our three day stay. The Accommodation and staff were excellent. I and my friends have already recommended the Ocean Mist to a number of friends.

Second visit and just as amazing. Hubby’s birthday. Lovely welcome and room decorated with balloons and little birthday touches. Clean room and lovely bar. Staff ate amazing.

Great stay at Ocean Mist. Beautifully renovated boat and a lovely surprise of decorated room for my birthday. Staff were amazing from start to finish. Bravo to you all! Room was lovely and the bed was so comfy! Beautiful en-suite! Great location with bars and restaurants about, and a 5 minute walk to the trams to City Centre of Edinburgh. A wee supermarket round the corner if you fancy nibbles for your room. 15 minute walk to The Royal Yacht Brittania. No TV or fridge in room, but I suppose not much going about when the boat was originally built in 1919! Lovely continental breakfast. Limited car park spaces for Ocean Mist, charged at £10 per day. Would we stay there again? ABSOLUTELY!
