Ocean Mist Leith

We decided to get away for an overnight and fancied something different for our accommodation and Ocean Mist Leith did not disappoint. On arrival you are welcomed aboard by friendly helpful staff who are keen to help and provide some history of the ship. The ships decor throughout is finished to an excellent standard and the our room and bathroom was quite stunning and very comfortable. We used the bar area which was comfortable and again staff were excellent in providing details of what drinks and cocktails were available. Prior to leaving we had a continental breakfast and at that time we were looked after by Toni who is well mannered, fun, and knowledgeable about the local area. Overall Ocean Mist is a fantastic hotel to visit and is located in a nice area close to the attractions and the numerous places to eat. Thanks for a wonderful stay, and we will return soon.

We had a great two night stay in this unique hotel. The Ocean Mist has been beautifully converted to provide comfortable rooms and suites while retaining its Nautical heritage. The staff were excellent- a lovely welcome from reception, great cocktails from the boys in the bar and a delicious continental breakfast served by Toni and her friendly assistant. Thank you all and we hope to see you all again!

The location is good, not too far from Edinburgh city centre, we walked it but you can easily get a tram from around the corner from the boat, the rooms are clean and have everything you need, could do with brighter lighting in the bedroom for us ladies doing our hair and makeup. We had no problems with noise in our rooms. Toni is lovely as are all of the staff, they are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble, they enhanced our stay. There is a small indoor bar area and lounge which are so comfortable, I would imagine in the summer it would be lovely sitting out on the deck having drinks. Great eateries around the area.

I'm not quite sure that I can agree with the no1 spot on TripAdvisor. Our room was as expected from the photos, a good size, clean and very pleasant. However, no TV. Although we wouldn't have watched it, its nice to have one. Our biggest disappointment was the bar. They have a lovely looking, cosy little bar but my God, several hours of reggae music and two bar men stood doing nothing and not asking guests in a very quiet bar if they want another drink, when we were sat with empty glasses is simply unacceptable. The bar is where a hotel can make good money and we would have loved to have sat and spent and enjoyed the vibe it should have had but unfortunately wasn't to be. Also the guy on reception stood idling outside the front door a couple of times isn't a great first impression for guests. It was good value for money but unfortunately we won't be back.

We had a wonderful stay. The rooms are excellent and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also had a very nice breakfast which was served on the upper deck was a great view.

Location was great with plenty of restaurants right next door. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and answered any questions we had. Our stay was calming, quiet, and peaceful and I would highly recommend this location for anyone staying in the area.

Amazing stunning accommodation , comfortable and 100% luxury … staff so friendly and helpful very welcoming breakfast superb and lots of good choice … beautiful touches thought the accommodation , Lovely bars and eateries nearby and easy team ride to centre prefer the old town and would recommend Royal Yacht Tour excellent and worth a visit can’t wait to return to Edinburgh
