The Castle Hotel

The hotel is centrally located. The old town is within easy walking distance. The train and bus stations are in the immediate vicinity. Ideal for an overnight stay on the way to Scotland.

The continental breakfast was rather basic. An English breakfast was offered upon request, but charged extra. The smell in the room was unpleasant. The generator outside the window was very loud.

Location was good, the room was clean and plenty room very large bathroom.

The shower was a bit disappointing not much force with shower.

Opted for continental as full was extra. Was basic toast cereal fruit yogurt. Was given door key if stayed out late which was good

Room was very small

Next to the station, buses and lovely walks to the river. Wonderful views from the room over the station, seeing the trains coming and going and the river Tweed with a good sunset. Helpful staff. Meals available including sunday lunch. Room was very quiet.

Water wasn't hot so no shower but staff said in the morning there was a boiler problem.

The property was extremely close to the train station,only a minute walk away. It was also near High Street and the bus stop to get to Spittal Beach. We booked a family room for two adults one child it was large and spacious, we only stayed one night, but could’ve stayed there longer.

Breakfast choices adequate, but not exceptional. One front desk attendant was extremely friendly and helpful and even let us check in sooner than we stated because our room was ready.
