Location was perfect for attending a celebration party at Dunkertons, just down the road.

I really didn't like the 'no staffed Reception' concept although understand it's probably the way things are moving. I did not receive the promised emails the night before to give me the codes for the outside door and my room but when I rang the number on the pre-visit email, on the morning of my stay, the woman who answered, (can't remember her name, sorry), was polite, reassuring and efficient - the relevant details were texted to me within 5 minutes and she checked that I'd received the text. Thank you. Had there been someone on Reception on arrival, I may well have ordered breakfast; there was otherwise no clear way to order it - although, it was probably an 'online' option?

Kontaktloses Einchecken hat geklappt. Das Zimmer war nett, das Bett bequem. Frühstück kostet extra. Habe ich mir gespart, weil mich das Abendessen nicht überzeugt hat und ich das Frühstück zu teuer fand. Kaffee und Tee kosten extra.

Die Lage ist für Wanderer auf dem Cotswold Way nicht optimal. Vom Weg aus läuft man etwa 1,5km an einer stark befahrenen Landstraße entlang. Dafür gibt es eine Tankstelle ganz in der Nähe, in der man sich für den weiteren Weg verpflegen kann.

No bed side lamp so had to get into bed in darkness.
