The shower drain was plugged, the walls were paper thin, and the room was too hot

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Hostal Los Pinos, and it's safe to say that my visit left much to be desired. From the moment we arrived, our encounter with Romina at the reception set the tone for a disappointing stay. To begin with, Romina's attitude was nothing short of rude and unhelpful. Unfortunately, her lack of professionalism was not the only issue we encountered during our stay. We were shocked to discover that we were intentionally misled about the payment methods. Romina conveniently failed to inform us that paying in pesos would result in a higher charge compared to USD. This felt like a deliberate attempt to take advantage of unsuspecting guests, leaving a bitter taste in our mouths. The room itself was far from satisfactory. It was evident that cleanliness was not a priority for the establishment. Spider webs adorned the corners, and to our horror, one of the beds had visible period stains. Despite bringing this to Romina's attention, she callously refused to address the issue, leaving us stuck in an unsanitary environment. Adding to our discomfort, the blankets provided emitted an unpleasant odor, making it clear that they were not laundered properly. A good night's sleep was out of the question under these conditions. In an attempt to salvage some positive aspects of our stay, we opted for an early breakfast, only to be met with another disappointment. For the amount we paid, the offering was shockingly meager—two pieces of toast and a single serving of jam per person. This minimalistic approach to breakfast left us feeling cheated and dissatisfied with our overall experience. In conclusion, my stay at Hostal Los Pinos was marred by rude and unhelpful staff, intentional withholding of crucial payment information, subpar cleanliness standards, and an underwhelming breakfast. I strongly advise potential guests to carefully consider their options before choosing this establishment.

Lovely clean room with comfy beds. Breakfast was sufficient and staff were extremely friendly. Great location just around the corner from the main square. Would definitely stay again!

great location, good enough amenities for the price. some of the staff was really helpful at our arrival, although not all of them by the time we left…

the hostel only serves breakfast at quite late hours, and it is true that they may be able to set you up an earlier breakfast before the staff is in the hostel, however in our case there was a big group leaving early the following morning and since they were occupying the whole of the dining room we were told that they couldn’t set any early breakfast for us. i asked the lady at reception if at least she could prepare us something to take away and she claimed that this was not her responsibility. it was a shame to have such bad goodbye experience cause we had really liked this place overall
