38 on Westcliff

An enormous house with a pool and a sea view. The two fridges were an added bonus too. We had everything we needed! The host was also very professional and effective. I can recommend this house for long stays.

That they could not accommodate us for earloer check-in time, as it was a last-minute booking, due to our previous booking agent that canceled and had everything regarding times. However, they let us book out later the day of checkout. Would be amazing if it was pet friendly as well, for 1 small dog. The room, which is a 4 sleeper, has no door on the bathroom for the shower and toilet, so people had to leave the room of someone who wanted to shower, etc.

The house was very spacious and ideal for a big group of people. The view of the ocean was amazing and it was relaxing to be outside next to the pool.

The booking did indicate that it was self catering but in many establishments self catering units do offer basic coffee, tea and sugar but this one did not. The draining systems of the showers were a problem but we were able to temporarily unclog the drains. The house could make do of a bigger dustbin and the front door and patio door handles need to be tightened.

There are a few issues with the house. The 6 bedrooms are large ,but the living spaces are inadequate. The house is somewhat neglected, and there are damp problems. The price out of season reflects the value.

main gate track was loose and the gate came off as we entered the property (lucky there were a few of us and managed to position the gate back on track) the house has damp and peeling plaster in most areas as well as musty smell. no backup plan for load-shedding (except for a few torches). no doors on toilets (upstairs room) and toilet is extremely close to bed. no dustbin bags, no matches (had a broken lighter) for gas stove old and dirty brush and sponges for dishes. the house contact/agent was not very accommodating and our plea that there are some issues as stated above, had no follow up and brushed off…

The stove - was gas, but was not on a great place. There is no light when cooking, so makes it a bit difficult to see, and being tall, the little area that it’s in makes it hard to move around There should also be a mini UPS for the WiFi / we. Experienced load shedding while there for 4hrs a day, which wasn’t planned or the properties fault, but having internet connection during this time would’ve been great Load shedding - would be great, especially for foreigners to have noticed up/on the app to educate about load shedding, what to do, etc., and use the WhatsApp number to keep guest informed of which stage/ how long/ what the procedure is
