Though we loved the grounds and area, the lodge room was very outdated and had a weird smell to it. The breakfast was nice and the staff, when we did see them were helpful, especially Bless! The view is worth it!

The location has an absolutely wonderful view of the Arenal Volcano. The rooms are spacious and clean and The A/C works well. Free breakfast is included and it is very conveniently located near Arenal Volcano National Park and Mystico Hanging Bridges.
The staff was very hospitable and kind. I had a difficult stay in my bungalow because there were so many ants. Geckos would poop and ants would come and it was a huge ongoing problem. The bungalows are very rustic. It’s freezing at night event in the high 60’s because there is nothing between you and the forest except some wood paneling. When it rained it leaked through the roof. It wasn’t the most comfortable stay. The cycaidas were so loud and the geckos chirps….its definitely for a certain type of person and that person wasn’t me.
The hotel room was small and not updated at all. We had many bugs and a lizard in our room. Something kept biting me and my family all night long. I was so worried that there were bed bugs that we packed up and stayed somewhere else. The AC worked well and the staff was friendly, but that was the only good parts of staying there. I would not stay there again, like ever.
Loved the view of Arenal from our room! We would have liked to have had a microwave and a hairdryer in the room but everything else was perfect.

This place is a good place to stay near lots of La Fortuna’s activities. You will need a car to go to the hot springs, hikes, birdwatching, etc. it is very convenient to go to Místico Park. The real plus was our host, Isaac. Just a very competent, agreeable and accommodating individual. Though the place is mainly basic accommodations with a good breakfast, Isaac is just top notch. Got great directions we needed with his knowledge of the area. Just an all around pleasant person to have met.
Had own cabin. Huge window to see Arenal volcano. Woke up every morning to the sounds of birds. Probably took as many bird photos at hotel as I did in any of the parks I went to - including a green parrot
