"Exceptional"

9.0

Simple but nice hotel, next to Ichinose Family ski area and ticket counter, plus ski rental shop and lockers. Public bath, good buffet breakfast and dinner. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

For the dinner buffet, I wished there was one vegetarian or vegan main dish option. Every main dish had meat, fish/seafood.

"Loved our first experience skiing in Japan!"

9.0

Great location, across the street from the chair lift. We enjoyed the public hot bath after a day on the slopes. The on-site ski rental was also convenient for us to not have to bring skis with us. The breakfasts and dinner menus varied daily, and the food quality was very good.

There were a few places where the unit needed maintenance or refurbishment. Housekeeping was hit or miss.

"Great staff, great location, no so comfy"

8.0

The staff were amazing, so lovely and friendly and keen to help in any way. The restaurant was almost over staffed with willing waiters ready to help.ammd clean up. Breakfast was good as it offered western options as well as Japanese and Chinese cuisine. I would suggest another toaster as the queue was quite long. Coin laundromat was helpful but it would have been nice to have a table to sort washing. The location is absolutely brilliant, almost ski in ski out. The sitting area to consume outside food is comfortable.

The futon on the floor feltt like a deflated air bed and the pillows are made of wheat and very hard. The hotel is old and needs a freshen up The bathroom had old toothpicks and rubbish from previous people down the side of the vanity. There are not many restaurants in the area and they need bookings and can be hard to make. There's not a bug drying room for ski gear, just narrow lockers for ski equipment.

"Tired hotel but helpful staff"

5.0

The public bath is very relaxing. There are drink vending machines.

The room and bathroom is very small, bed is soft and there seems to be a dark cigarette burn on my duvet. The room has parts that are a bit dusty. The door is metal, which feels a bit strange for a hotel. The hotel is not ski in ski out. It’s across the road from the ski slopes and the ticket office. When it’s very icy you have to be careful carrying your skis across the road and up a small but icy slope. Breakfast has many options but none are really wow. And they only have one coffee machine that needs to “rest” for 3 minutes between a few pours of coffee, which meant a long queue for coffee on the morning. The equipment hired for skiing is also very old. I tried to also rent helmet and it was quite hard to find one that fits. It seems like they don’t have enough equipment to select from.

"Great location, friendly staff."

7.0

Great location right across the road from the lift ticket office. Very traditional Japanese ski resort No crowds when we were there (Feb16) Heaps of skiable terrain.

The room we had for 2 people was exceptionally small. There’s no drying room per se. You get a ski locker and put your boots in there to dry. Restaurants are primarily in the hotels and there are no cafes or bars.
