The manager left a voice mail stating she was leaving my key inside the room and it would be unlocked with the lights on. The whole drive was horrendous it was like driving on a buckboard. All uneven, we have a small car and lucky i did not brake anything under my car. The shower has mold growing around the corking. We stayed there only six hours because of the the beds not being comfortable ect...

I just want to start off, saying that the owner of this motel is the sweetest person ever!! I also love the old school style of the bathrooms! I love the 70’s blue in the bathroom<3 this place was really clean. Even though the pool area was closed, I will say the pool was crystal clear and super clean. I will definitely be coming back here in the fall!!! This is a cute place to stay. If you’re looking for something simple and someplace quiet, I would recommend this place.
Basic motel but clean with all the standards you would expect including a pool and hot tub, and the surprise being a totally solar powered endeavor. Eco isn't just marketing!
My wife and I reserved a room at the Gale River Motel for two nights. Where to start? Let's go in chronological order. 1. Never got an e-mail confirmation, despite asking. 2. No one manning the office when we arrived. 3. Used contact number. Was told room number and keys could be found in the room. 4. There was an unflushed turd in the toilet. 5. Toilet had all rust stains in the bowl. 6. I found ROACHES around the toilet. 7. I kept finding roaches in the bathroom our entire stay. 8. The TV remote is very unintuitive. There are no instructions or channel listings. 9. No one ever manned the office at any time during our stay. 10. Hope you have quiet neighbors because the walls are paper thin. But other than that, everything was perfect (rolling my eyes). Save your money, your sanity, and keep your last meal down by staying at a different place. Apparently, this place, the Gale River Motel, once very nice according to previous reviews, was sold in October 2022. BEWARE!!!
Found this place at the last minute and glad I did. Room was nice and clean. Great homestyle touches with sitting chairs, towels made nicely on the bed, and even some board games to use in the closet. Check in was a piece of cake. Keyless entry and the motel emailed your room code the morning of check in. Didn't even have to go to the front desk at all. Yes some of the fixtures are old but that's what makes this quaint place very nice.
