Gale River Motel

we were in area for a family event in Bethlehem and the Gale River had the only affordable prices around glad we found them we spent 2 nights there first night had dinner with family in littleton, then on Sat had our event in Bethlehem a little more driving but got to use the backroads I grew up on. the beds were comfortable room was warm , WiFi was good enough and free plus a great view out the window..we'd recommend this for anyone on a budget and not in need of a 5 star hotel

I’m a bit late with this review but better late than never. There were 3 of us and we stayed in the executive room. It was super clean. Kevin was very nice and helpful, and we could tell that he cares about his property and his guests. The bathroom is small, so take a hanging toiletry bag for easy access to your necessities since there isn’t a vanity to spread things out on. I would also recommend a power strip just to make it easier for everybody in your party to charge their devices. We never heard any noise from other rooms. We didn’t try out the pool because even summer in NH isn’t hot enough for our southern selves to get in a pool lol! It’s a great place to stay with a great view. It’s relaxed and away from the hustle and bustle. It was nice to come back each evening to the quiet, peaceful surroundings. The location is wonderful for exploring.

Perfect budget motel for those who are active while in the White Mountains. Clean with nice, big beds. Kevin and Sue help with nearly anything you need. Great to have our dog along and not get gouged on price because of her. Highly recommended!

Was a great stay. Kevin was an awesome person to work with. Kevin was very social and accommodating to our needs. Can’t wait to go back We had a beautiful view of cannon mountain the view at night was amazing

Please ask for Kevin who provided me with outstanding customer service and went above and beyond any proprietor in the industry. He was responsive to the needs of our party and followed up with me immediately on such an upcoming busy Columbus Day Weekend. I would definitely stay at this Motel. An added bonus is they are pet friendly! Whenever I visit the White Mountains, I will have this place on speed dial!

We have stayed here at Gale River Motel many times. Keven the owner is awesome. Anything you need he will do his best to accommodate you. During this crazy time with covid we felt very safe. Rooms are very clean and fully stocked with what you need. He went the extra step after the required cleaning, by wiping down everything with alcohol... social distancing is rquired and followed. You park your vehicle in front of your room and no one enters untill you check out. If you need to get away and feel safe... here you go. Its rustic and cozy... the view of the mountains is awesome.

Clean and simple room. Cable tv, hot water, comfy bed. A little less expensive than other options. All I needed after a day in the slopes. Nice staff. Close to the slopes at Cannon. Would stay at the Gale River Motel again for sure.

This motel was a great find. We loved staying here. True it is not a luxury spa, but we weren't looking for that. It was a great location to explore the White Mountains. This exploration was made easier by the innkeeper who knew the area well and gave us suggestions about hikes, places to see, how to get to places the best way - being from far away from this part of the country these suggestions made our trip. He even could tell me quickly where I could catch a sunset when the clouds cleared and I had only a short time to to drive to get to a place with a good view. We also loved being in Franconia far away from the outlet malls and traffic of the Conway area. The views were great and we loved being able to park right outside our door - no steps to climb. Event though the decor was a little outdated, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We don't really care that much about interior decorating. There wasn't a seating area but we weren't looking for a place where all you do is sit in your room. Since we were traveling in the fall we didn't use the pool but there was one there for summer visitors.

I love this place! I have stayed here twice this year and plan to return. Firstly it is pet friendly, which isn’t easy to find. There are toys for your pup and great walking area. The innkeeper is personable, accommodating and knowledgeable. He has thought of everything down to small details. It is clean and eco-friendly. The only downsides are dogs can’t sleep on the beds and hot tubs are on at limited times off season. Franconia is beautiful and this is a great spot. I highly recommend this.

Traveling from MN through the New England states leaf peeping! A gentleman working at Cannon Mountain suggested Gale River Motel, so we called & were lucky enough to get the last room! Beautiful location & view & Kevin, the owner was friendly, knowledgeable & had homemade cookies for us! Clean rooms, comfortable beds & a spacious room. Kevin had great suggestions for dinner too! We loved this little gem & will definitely return if we're in the area again!
