Rothay Garth

The staff were so lovely and made us feel very welcome, the room was comfortable and the showier was great. Breakfast was really good as well, they had a variety of options. We would stay again, definitely.

There’s nothing we didn’t like about this place. The blind was a bit difficult to navigate but nothing was bad about the place at all. Would recommend staying here if you’re travelling to Ambleside.

Location was excellent. Short 1 minute walk to town. Free on-site parking was an added bonus. Staff super friendly and very welcoming.

Firstly would like to say that the staff were pleasant and welcoming. What needs to be said about the Rothay Garth is that there are two types of accommodation. We had a room in the unsightly extension which bears no resemblance to the rooms pictured on the website. The room experience was akin to staying in a caravan, very dark, with no view other than a very a very unkempt garden. Definitely not worth the money. Breakfast was average and the fact that the slice of black pudding was cut in half suggest that full cash is to be extracted from every guest. Would definitely not return.

Staff very friendly and helpful. There were lots of options for breakfast, it was lovely and plenty, All our choices were tasty, and hot and well presented. The beds were very comfy.

The staff were very friendly especially Victor. The walk in shower was excellent.

That we were only there for 3 nights, we would have loved to stay longer. It could do with a bigger mirror in the room.

Great location, kindly arranged for a late check in, plenty for breakfast, nice fluffy towels, convenient parking.

Just had a very pleasant stay at the Rothay Garth hotel in Ambleside. The hotel is in a great location with plenty of on site parking. It is within walking distance of the town with lots of amenities, bars and restaurants. It is also ideally situated to take advantage of local walking trails. We received a warm welcome from Victor who was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. A very pleasant stay and we would be happy to recommend and return in the future.
