The Ritz-Carlton, Portland

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, and wonderful amenities.

Not a fan of the club lounge here. They also will continuously judge you and ask if you are staying there. Very awkward experience.

We recently stayed for 2 nights after moving from the Dossier Hotel because the AC was defined not up for the heatwave. The room was a grand king and was modern, spacious, comfortable and to be frank expensive. The hotel seemed very quiet which is a pity given its quality and the fact that as a new building everything works as you would expect in 2025. The staff were excellent and the valet team were a highlight. The parking is expensive, however secure and faultless. We had breakfast and it was a lovely space, however strangely slow - really slow.

Look no further for downtown PDX Lux!! This was such an amazing night downtown Portland! The staff and the property are true luxury. Centrally located downtown for walking to dining and shopping. The pool is an indoor infinity with a jacuzzi as well. Everything is so clean. The staff in the Club Lounge were exceptional, especially Mei Mei! Our room was spacious and gorgeous and the VIEW!!! Seriously the VIEW!!! Joey at the front desk remembered our names and handled an uncomfortable situation with such professional grace. Amanda, our server at Bellpine, the 20th Floor restaurant was so great and attentive and helped us celebrate! Eliana is a Ritz gem I love working with :) We will 100% be back!

• The room was spacious, with a huge bathroom and elegant modern design throughout the building. • The staff were impeccably trained and professional — a real highlight of our stay. • I greatly appreciated the early check-in, which I had requested in advance and was honored without any issue. • There was also a thoughtful surprise in the room for my wife and daughter, which I had asked for — again, a big plus that my request was fulfilled. • We didn’t bring our own toothbrushes, and the hotel promptly provided them upon request. • Speaking of amenities: the quality of toiletries, toothbrushes, and other room supplies was exceptional — easily the best I’ve encountered in any U.S. hotel.

These aren’t dealbreakers, but at this price point and brand level, they stood out more than they would elsewhere. • No breakfast included. I understand this is often the norm in high-end hotels, but it still felt like a downside when many cheaper properties offer great breakfasts as part of the stay. • Strangely, there weren’t enough towels in the room initially — we had to request more. They were delivered quickly, but it felt odd in a hotel of this level. • Despite specifically booking a room with a mountain view (both via Booking.com and through direct request), we were given a city view instead. That was disappointing. • Lastly, I was surprised there was no sauna available — a feature I had expected at a property like this. Each of these minor issues wouldn’t matter much on their own, but together they did reduce the experience slightly. Still, it was a superb stay overall — and very close to a perfect 10.

Room was spectacular and finally a gym that that is appropriately equipped. Ellipticall, treadmills more than one bench for weights. Best steak I ever had served at the Ritz’ restaurant

If you’re planning a visit to Portland Oregon, the Ritz-Carlton should be at the top of your list. This hotel has the feel of an elegant, relaxed boutique hotel, in a great downtown location. The service is impeccable - starting at check-in (with the charming concierge, Joey). We were greeted warmly by staff every time we entered or left the hotel. We loved our stay. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and decorated in quiet, understated colors. The bed had three different pillows to satisfy any preference, and the mattress and bed linens were incredibly comfortable. The hotel was very quiet. Our bathroom had two sinks, a roomy shower and a separate bath. Water pressure was excellent, and there was plenty of hot water. We were impressed by the quality of the service overall, but it was the small things that really stood out. Our housekeeper noticed that I had purchased a book at Powell’s, and she left me a Ritz-Carlton-branded bookmark on the book. She also used a Ritz-Carlton-branded Velcro tie to tame my phone charging cord. The food at the Bell Pine restaurant was excellent, as was the service, particularly from Gabriel. This is an outstanding hotel, we loved our stay, not only because of its quiet luxury, but also the friendliness and warmth of everyone we met there. We recommend it highly.

Amazing place

Errors made, charged for room when it had been pre-paid, advised and was told had been rectified, though transpired that had not and no follow up to request to send through correct folio. Guest services room service request had to be followed up when not actioned. Other guest was not added to the booking on check in meaning that only one robe in the room.

Fantastic staff! Everyone was very helpful and kind! Spa is a must do. Will definitely be back
