Hostal Talavera

The staff is outstanding and the terrace is perfect to relax at any time. Rooms are quiet and bathrooms are clean.

No free sugar haha but the staff shared theirs with me. So no complain.

The hostel is near the centre and its cheap. Thats nice Realy nousy street do.... But i left after a week, because of the people. The hostel it runs completely by volunteers, so never seen someone from the hostel weird.... The first days i was sick thats why i stayed so long. so some of the staff are making it dirthy dont clean and are there to party. i was drying my tent on the washing line plus my close. I left the hostel to eat it rained i came back the staff have a bbq next to my tent and close ! So thank you very very nice to not put it inside ok ok but to make a fire next to it.....its plastic !!!! 2 if the staff that made the bbq never said hello to me just give me a realy unwelcome feeling. I stayed one night at a friend's house and asket can i change the dates, but because the al volunteers the dont now how it works great service ! I dont ask a lot normaly i camp and dont mind to much about it but be friendly please. Than i had to book for 2 more night, My friend waited in the car. So had to do it with booking.com because the pin dont works. There came a family inside at the moment i was done booking. But the guy just helped the family first takes no joke an extra 30 minutes. Had to see my passport again and did realy unfriendly i was there already 7days. One other night shared my dirm with a family but the didnt where there to sleep, the stayed till 2.30 and left. So great no sleep at all.. So all to say there are realy nice volunteers there aswell but some of them just do something else because this is not nice. Maybe im to used to the kindness and friendly people of Mexico this was just realy different.

Kind staff, OK location, roof terrace gives a nice touch

Lack of privacy: beds are not covered by anything,,staff seems somehow lazy a lot of times: often no one would be at the reception; one of the men toilets was dirty for 3 days in a row without anyone cleaning it; the men showers also had literal poop on the floor for more than 2 days and was quite dirty with pieces of old soap and trash on the floor; one of the curtains in the mixed bedroom room was also broken for half of my stay, the water dispenser was also broken and left like that, some guests would also play loud music until way past 11am me

OK location, relatively close to historical center and fuerte.. Staff were kind and helpful overall.

Absolutely no expectation of privacy whatsoever; beds are just open with no curtain or anything. A lot of parts of the building are old and damaged; including the bathrooms, dorm windows, etc. Disrespectful guests play loud music at midnight and the staff does nothing about it. Pictures on booking look much nicer than in real life.

La primera noche en mi cama había chinches me picaron les comenté y no isieron nada para solucionar el problema ....el segundo día cambiaron la contraseña de la entrada principal y no pude entrar

Road noise

The terrace is a great spot to meet people and hang out or get some sun. They have some sort of event everyday. Only a 13 minute walk to zócalo in a safe area. Affordable in-house laundry service.

Too many stairs but that's just the design of the house. Make sure you have what you need before leaving your room.
