"Yes I would recommend this as a holiday to relax."

10.0

Excellent hotel lovely food, Giannis on reception he is tremendous at what he does. Hotel is truly blessed with this man. Very welcomning always smiling and polite with everybody that approaches him. Only downfall is people reserving the sun lounge chairs and going back to their rooms, and from their balcony when other guests come to use the chairs they are saying from the balcony it's their chair which isn't fair to the other guests. Though if you tell management they will remove the towels so that they are available for other guests. Deffently would recommend for relaxing holiday. 5 stars all the way.

"If you are British, like good food and alcohol, DO NOT COME!!!!!"

2.0

Things you should know: 1) The hotel is beautiful, it is clean and well maintained, but not well organised. Please note, that it is on a massive hillside and therefore anyone with disabilities forget it. It is also 90 minutes for the airport for a private transfer, or the last stop for the Tui transfers, so three hours in total. You are truly in the middle of nowhere and unable to leave. There is no entertainment team and the evening events are extremely limited. The staff are trying, but have become apathetic and beaten! They have, what I call Tourist fatigue!!!! Anastasia is trying her best, but must feel like she is swimming against the tide!! Any Gym bunnies needs to know that it is very small and limited equipment. (Please note, we enjoyed the waterpark) 2) The food is absolutely shocking. The speciality restaurants are a disasters. Over cooked food everywhere, children sticking their fingers in every sauce, ice cream and pudding. Children running around the dining area. Cold main meals and poor organisation. Very poor at all times of the day. The Alcohol is disgusting, poorly made cocktails, horrible beers and cheap wine, with one exception the passion fruit martini 3) If you are British, Eastern European guests dominate and there is a significant different in culture and education. Smoking at the tables in the speciality restaurants. Gangs of uncontrolled children, screaming, shouting and rude people who do not care how loud and nasty they are (please note this has nothing to do with the Hotel, but is their current client base). If you are British , please don't come!!! 4) Nowhere near enough sunbeds. Expect a fight with Eastern Europeans 5) Finally, the beach, do not expect much. The loungers are packed in, the sea is rocky and the sand has been trucked in, finally the bar has no alcohol other than cheap beer. Please, do not go down there for the sunset as you will only be disappointed. Again, it's in a beautiful setting, but this cannot take away from the rank food and current client base for brits!

"The Soul of Ajul: Outstanding Service at the Beach and Bar"

8.0

Our stay at the Ajul Luxury Hotel was truly delightful. The food was delicious, varied, and offered a wide selection to suit every taste. The staff throughout the hotel were consistently helpful and friendly, contributing greatly to the overall experience. What stood out most, however, were the team members at the beach and beach bar. We grew especially fond of Christina, Jackson, and their colleague, whose warm and welcoming nature made every encounter a genuine pleasure. Their heartfelt hospitality added a personal touch that made our stay truly special.

"Negative reviews have nothing real. Fantastic vacay in this all you need hotel!"

10.0

We just got back from Ajul Luxury Resort in Halkidiki and honestly, I feel like I have to write this because the bad reviews nearly scared us off — and I’m so glad we didn’t listen! What we found was the exact opposite: everything was amazing, and we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday. From the start, the staff made the experience unforgettable. Nikos, the golf cart driver, was an absolute legend. Always smiling, funny, and super pleasant — we called him Red Bull because he was full of energy and made every ride a joy. He’s one of those people who lifts the whole mood of a place. At the reception, Dimi was incredible. She was so helpful, always patient with our questions, and went the extra mile to make sure everything ran smoothly for us. Honestly, she made us feel completely taken care of. Breakfast was a highlight every single morning thanks to Olsi, the omelette master! The best omelettes we’ve ever had, and always served with kindness. And we can’t forget Pavlos, who was just as attentive and friendly, making sure we felt at home. The resort itself is stunning — clean, peaceful, and beautifully set up for a relaxing holiday. We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. I have to say this directly: the negative reviews do not reflect reality. What we saw was people doing their best to deliver a 5-star experience, and they absolutely succeeded. If you’re hesitant like we were, don’t be — this resort is worth it, and we will definitely be coming back.

"Great stay with potential to be outstanding!"

8.0

We had a lovely week at Ajul. As a family of 5 it isn’t easy finding somewhere that accommodates 5 in one room. We did pay for the privilege of a villa with pool and it was fantastic. It was clean and well equipped. The staff were great and so friendly (shout out to Nicolas at the pool bar) however, more staff are needed! Especially at the bars and around the water park. Buggy’s will transport you anywhere in the resort with just a phone call to reception or a WhatsApp message. Ajul does have so much potential to be the 5* luxury resort it could be. The grounds are well manicured and accommodation we were in was great. The air con is quite noisy and could perhaps do with updating. The mini bar seems to be an issue as it is stocked on arrival then only filled with water. The rubber rings at the water park are also lacking. I counted 13! And guests were hogging them and hiding behind the 10 sun beds they were also hogging. More rings needed and more staff to mange the water park area. Also slightly frustrating that the water park doesn’t serve cocktails but does offer beer and wine. Yet the bar area is big enough to accommodate this. The beach bar also doesn’t serve cocktails. And the food at the beach is lacking. The buffet is ok, pleasant if you’re early (before 9am and 8pm). Again I think if staff managed the guests it would help. Restaurants are great but you need to book asap! If you go to the pool bar in the evening you are still served with plastic cups. The entertainment is lacking. It’s a bit dull and not for kids. Seems like a moan but if these improvements were made, Ajul would be outstanding. We did enjoy our week and would possibly return if improvements were made. Thank you to staff that made our stay fantastic.

"Would benefit from an adults only area"

8.0

The resort is reasonably well laid out and it was clearly expensively kitted out a couple of years ago however, there were a couple of niggling issues for us as an adult couple, booking a time which we thought would be after children returned to school. Firstly, the resort could definitely do with a child free area and including a pool as the place was swarming with small children and many seemed to be feral, screaming and running about. The main dining room had a wide choice and quality was good however, it was very bright and with lots of hard surfaces, it was also very noisy. The staff were friendly, the bar staff especially so. They hade a great repertoire of cocktails as well as various well known brands and were very generous with the drinks.

"Let downs all round. Absolutely not 5 star."

6.0

10 days break at the Ajul which has some really good things going for it. Sadly, it lets itself down on almost every measure and does not live up to its 5 star claims. Booked a sea-view bungalow with private pool. Arrived late after some delays to be advised on check in that there was a “ problem” with our room. Their solution was to provide another room ( lesser grade/price) and assured us that first thing in the morning we would be moved to our rightful accommodation. We were annoyed but understood that things happen. Obviously there is no point in settling, unpacking knowing our move was imminent so we slept and went for breakfast and then enquired on the way back. This time we were advised that the room would not be ready until later in the day. Why? Because the occupants in it would not be checking out until 11am. Occupants? We asked a little confused. It seems the “ problem” we were advised of on arrival was that there was someone else in the room not a problem with the room itself. By now we were annoyed, both at this apparent double booking of our roll but also the complete lack of concern about it by the staff and later the manager. It was only by taking up camp in reception while phoning and complaining to Jet2 that we were able ( after a few more hours) to finally get into the accommodation we had booked and paid for. If something like this happens the standard practice as I have known it is that you explain, apologise and either upgrade the guests to a room of a higher grade or if that is not possible you compensate them for your error. The hotel offered nothing of the sort and could not have cared less in the way they presented to us. That understandably got things off to a bad start but we really wanted to draw a line under it and enjoy the break. However, it became apparent the hotel is just not up to its 5 star claims. The gym is out dated, not staffed, not cleaned. The very limited equipment is old ,in poor condition and dusty. It seems to be tucked in the corner of the spa and forgotten about. The food is average at best. And it’s a fight at breakfast and dinner to find a table. When you do find one you then have to wait for it to be cleared and cleaned. The waiting staff are rushing around but there is not enough of them. High praise for the a la carte restaurants, the food and service was excellent at both. The spa was great, we enjoyed a massage, staff very friendly and attentive. The shop is VERY basic we bought an inflatable and within 24 hours it had a hole in it. This was raised with the manager who did nothing ( again) Our mini bar was filled up on the first day and then not again. Yet I saw a staff member go to the bungalow next door and refill theirs so I assumed it we had been missed by accident. I asked on the chat if ours could be refilled but was advised it’s only done on the day of arrival. This left me scratching my head as our neighbours had been here on our arrival 🤔 when I saw the same again the following day I questioned the staff member who said initially the same as the “chat” only on arrival day. When I challenged them with the information that this wasn’t a new arrivals room, the account changed to “ you have to ask for it “ when I advised I had asked, he shrugged and said he had a list and we weren’t on it. I raised this encounter with guest relations who couldn’t tell me the “ policy” on the mini bar but the same guy came back that day filled ours up but we never saw him again after that or got any confirmation or whether it should be done or not. I see other reviews seem to have been confused by this too. Some have been refilled daily, some told just on arrival day. 😐 Hotel setting is beautiful, stunning views, very isolated one road in and out and hotel Is 3.5 km from the main road and then further on to any villages owns. If you’re a runner, hope you enjoy the elevation as much as we did! 😬 Room was nice but again not 5 star, just the little touches that would be common place in a 5 star resort are lacking. Nothing to put your toothbrushes in, the shampoo/conditioner are not fixed to anything just dumped on the floor of the shower. Mould in the shower tray. Storage lacking for 3 people for ten days, it’s just poorly thought out and could be so much better. The private pool area was lovely. Some ant issues - see photo. If you travel here with jet2 be advised the rep does not visit unless requested to, so there is no on-site support in the event of a problem. They were very supportive by phone and did come over after our check in issues. Jane was very knowledgeable and informative recommended a great trip which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. She also ensured we were compensated by jet2. We have no beef with jet2, just the “resort” itself and its Leadership . We spoke to a few people during our stay and learned we were not alone in our experience. Others reported not getting the rooms they had paid for. I see the management usually put a little comment under the reviews to acknowledge them etc. I would gently request them not to do so on this one. You were given every opportunity while we were away to provide better service and deal with issues , you elected not to. No point acknowledging after the fact.
