"A terrible and expensive experience"

2.0

We ordered an executive bungalow suite (100 SQ/Mr) with a jacuzzi bath (room 502). Photos in the website were amazing. We turned out to receive a windowless room for the parents ( huge and dark), a movie screen is positioned 2 meters from the entrance to the room, and every evening there is movie night, virtually inside the room. For some reason the hotel did not find this really disturbing or worth while mentioning. The highlight of the room was definitely the dirty toilets (all smeared with s..t). They were no cleaned even after asked . specifically from house keeping. When we asked to change the room we were offered poor alternatives and an answer that all rooms are booked. A short browse showed that an identical room just with a pool was free for the whole period. When sent to the guest relation manager she just ignored the message... The all inclusive variety is also very poor in comparison to other hotels in Greece. There is virtually no option to eat during the day, other than the main food hall (only drinks throughout the hotel pools and beach) and only 2 additional restaurants for dinner othe than the main dining room.

"Wonderful Treatments"

10.0

The Spa Visit was one of my highlights at this stay. Despina is an expert in her area and I love love loved the massage amd facial treatments. It was relaxing, but also personalized for my needs. Everyone was so kind and the facility is clean and beautiful. Huge recommendation!

"Nice but not luxury"

8.0

We have just returned from the hotel following a 1 week stay with my husband and 2 year old. Food - Breakfast was MANIC if going past 9.30am, you aren't shown to a table or anything so people were running for tables didn't feel particularly luxury in the slightest. The al a carte restaurants were fantastic but always booked and we struggled to get reservations despite them not looking overly busy in the slightest on the nights we went to them. Which was a shame as we found the food choice at the evening buffet extremely basic and not particularly nice. We chose to have lunch at the Greek restaurant every lunch time, and the girls brought it takeaway to our terrace which was across - which was a lovely touch and very appreciated whilst our baby napped. Room - We had the deluxe bungalow room 402 - good location for us but others may not like how exposed it is. The bed was very comfortable and very spacious. The bathroom was terrible, we had a bath which was a godsend with our little one however, there was no shower screen or curtain so the bathroom was SWIMMING every time we showered and was a complete trip hazzard. The mini bar was stocked with cans of drink on day one but after that we only got water. In every other 5 star hotel we have stayed at cans have always been replenished. We were very near the bar so it was fine but if your not could be very annoying. Pool - Pool areas fantastic! We spent the mornings by the splash park and afternoon at the main pool. Could always get a sunbed and was great. No complaints at all. Staff - The majority of the staff were extremely friendly. Our daughter became very unwell one night and the night staff were exceptional in how they dealt with the situation. Cleaners were good, however one day our room was missed and not cleaned until 6.45pm when we were getting ready for dinner. However, workmen felt appropriate to let themselves into our room without permission which i think is completely unacceptable. We were getting changed when they knocked on the patio door. We didnt answer and they felt it was appropriate to let themselves in to hang up a picture on the bedroom wall. I have never ever experienced this and i am grateful my husband was there to stop them before they managed to get through the bedroom door. To me if cosmetic maintenance work needs to take place it should be when the rooms arent occupied or with permission. Overall we did enjoy our stay, but overall we did say we wouldn't return as we didn't feel like it was complete value for money or 5 star. With the food and bathroom as the biggest downfall.

"Wonderful & Relaxed Stay. Thank you ⭐️"

10.0

Ajul… A wonderful relaxing stay, great staff and our bungalow with private pool is a real treat. Bungalow 702 is a great location, close to everything. Our wonderful housekeeping lady is extremely thorough and is looking after us alongside many other members of the team… Reception, Beverages and Restaurant. Thank you all, we will be returning to normal life very well rested ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As other reviews have mentioned there are lots of families here but Ajul is not an adults only hotel so this is to be expected. The beach bar is a little rugged and compared to other hotel beach bars we’ve enjoyed , this could be improved upon. But this is personal preference as always. Ajul is a great hotel and we would definitely love to return in the future. Well done Ajul Team 🤩

Fantastic stay! The hotel was perfect for our summer holiday—beautiful location, friendly staff, spotless rooms, and a lovely pools and beaches. Special thanks to Christina at the pool bar, and Jevgenia at Thimari restaurant, whose kindness, professionalism, and exceptional service made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

"This is a family resort, not a luxury resort."

6.0

Ajul markets itself as a luxury, all-inclusive resort, but our stay proved otherwise. While the design was clean and modern, I wouldn’t call it luxurious—just new. And while our experience wasn’t outright terrible, it certainly wasn’t what you’d expect from a resort claiming to be high-end. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place caters to families with young children. Kids were running around constantly, which made it feel more like a playground than a peaceful retreat. If you’re looking for a romantic or relaxing luxury getaway, this is not the place. We were five people and originally booked a Deluxe Bungalow with a private pool—a key factor in our decision. Upon check-in, however, the hotel changed our room last minute, calling it an upgrade. The “upgrade” had us sharing a pool with about five or six other rooms, and honestly, it felt like a downgrade in every way. When you promise privacy and deliver a communal experience, that’s just bad service. The hotel is fairly new (I was told it opened in 2022 or 2023), but even so, we found black mold in our shower. That’s not what anyone should expect—let alone accept—at a resort that claims to be luxury. Proper daily cleaning should prevent this. And then there’s the food situation. The resort has two restaurants that are supposedly included in the all-inclusive package. However, no one tells you in advance that you must book through an app the moment you check in. Naturally, by the time we arrived, all restaurant slots were fully booked for our entire 3-night stay. When we asked the front desk for help, we were told the restaurants are a “separate department” and there was nothing they could do. Seriously? Eventually, we managed to secure a reservation at Ambrosia, the Italian restaurant, and it was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had at a resort. The menu listed a complimentary starter from the house—it never came. Our antipasti arrived, but both the first and second courses were brought out at the same time. One dish (a salmon) never arrived at all, and no one came to check in or ask how our meal was. We ended up leaving early because it was clear nothing else was coming. The staff was polite, but the service was disorganized and unprofessional. The food itself? Also disappointing. I ordered the king prawns (36€ à la carte)—burnt to a crisp. My brother’s filet mignon tasted like fish, likely grilled on the same surface as seafood. This isn’t acceptable at a high-end restaurant. Honestly, the buffet food was far better than what we were served at the “fine dining” restaurant. To make matters worse, just after we got to our room, staff walked in while we were inside to put down rugs and hang curtains—something that could’ve and should’ve been done before check-in. It felt like no one was prepared for our arrival. There are also adult and kids’ activities offered, but every single one requires a reservation—and again, you’re not informed about that until you arrive, meaning most things are booked up already. It creates a sense that you’re constantly too late for everything the resort offers. Final thoughts: • Would I call this luxury? No. • Would I return for a romantic escape or adults-only retreat? Absolutely not. • Would I recommend it to families with children under 12? Yes. There are plenty of child-friendly activities and entertainment, and they’d likely enjoy it. Rating: 3 out of 5 stars. Ajul should rebrand itself clearly as a family resort—not a luxury experience—so expectations can align accordingly. If they were more transparent, improved service quality, and communicated essential booking information in advance, the experience could be significantly better

"Nice hill top hotel overlooking the sea"

8.0

First time in Halkidiki, though not the first in an all inclusive seaside hotel. Brand new hotel, with apartments and villas (some with private/shared pools). They have an aquapark which is a bonus for family with kids. Beach is not so close but they offer ride back and forth not only to the beach but inside the premises too, from your room to the aquapark for instance. Staff is polite. Premises clean. Breakfast is plentiful. Lunch and dinner a bit repeatitive. But the good thing is that every third day of your stay you could book a-la carte free of charge. Room fridge is only upon arrival stocked with soda/beers, whereas only with water every other day. Spa was with extra payment although we paid for AI. Some minuses - beach bar is very basic, serving only some small sandwiches and hotdogs and they would ran out pretty quickly and not get restocked. No coffee tables/chairs at beach bar. NO LIFEGUARD AT THE BEACH and no sea secured/marked area for swimmers.Main pool has no shaded area and no sitting corner with chairs and tables. Again snacks served at pool bar are rather basic and they ran out before the bar is closed. NO ANIMATION team nor any water activities for grown ups. In our last day of stay they brought a team of 2 animators for kids but rather amateurs. No live shows at night, but live slow music though. An outdoor projector/cinema for kids though. I think they could use as an example the AI 5 star hotels in Antalya who go out of their way to keep their guests entertained at all times and where AI concept mean all- inclusive in every aspect. And maybe they can expand their AI concept a bit further as there is room to do so. What was missing was a bit of more lively atmosphere in the hotel day and night becuse it resembled more a retreat center, particulary adding the fact that there is nothing in the vicinity of the hotel for one to entertain outside.

"Shared wimup rooms not worth it"

8.0

Don't bother upgrading to shared swimup rooms. Yes you get pool access , but there are no sunbeds to relax on. They are a complete waste of money. Stick with the basic room and use the communal pool next to the Greek restaurant . Plenty of very comfy sunbeds and very quiet and relaxng.

"Fantastic place!"

10.0

Among the best places for a family vacation. The service was fantastic, the reception was excellent. A mountain place with fresh air surrounded by pine trees and the clear sea and the service of the entire staff was at a high level. I recommend this hotel if you are a family. It's worth it!
