Great stay at The General Kyoto - an easy 15 minute walk to a great dining/restaurant area and the Gion District. Clean, comfortable, well-appointed room and a nice bonus of a Lounge with free (!) drinks and snacks during the day and cocktails, snacks & desserts at night.

우선 방이 이쁨. 공간이 넓어서 큰 캐리어도 펼쳐 둘 수 있고 이동에 불편함 없음. 캐리어 여러개 동시에 펼칠 수 있음. 직원분들이 매우 친절함. 영어로 소통 가능. 라운지에 웰컴 드링크와 간식들 비치되어있음.

Bien situé près de la station de metro Shijo l( deux station de la gare de Kyoto) le personnel est aidant , courtois et nous a suggéré de bons restaurants autour, chambre agréable et éclairée. Bon petit déjeuner inclus. Arigato goseimasu

I met the nicest Japanese lady - Takamora! Because of her, I rated this hotel 5 stars! The hotel itself has very comfortable bed and offer good size bedrooms. It is very clean and close to bus stops and Shijo train station (ignore the train exit 1-4 and go through the underground shopping area and look for exit 24). You just enjoy coming back to your bedroom after a long day. They even provide free access to lounge to their guests for some snacks and drinks from 3pm-10pm, so sweet of the hotel. I do love the hotel but what makes this hotel exceptional was this kind lady - Takamora working in the lounge serving our daily breakfast. She was very proactive in giving us ideas and also places to visit during our stay. She wrote down on papers in case we did not understand her. Not only that, on our very last day, she asked us if we know how to take the Shinkansen line from the hotel. She gave us very detailed directions without me even asking. She was very caring towards the customers even though she was just helping out in the lounge and she has all the rights not to give ideas etc. But her warmth and extraordinary attitude added a lot of values to this hotel and make it the best 6 days stay. Takamora - you are the best! I will definitely miss your smiles!

部屋、ラウンジはもちろん、スタッフの方が素晴らしいです。 フロントにあるスタッフの方おすすめの近所の飲食店の冊子も素晴らしいです。 京都の情報を親切に教えてくださいます。 おもてなし一流です。おすすめです。

Un des meilleurs hôtel que nous avons habité Nous sommes restés 5 jours TOUT était parfait

Nestled in the back streets of the area this Japanese themed hotel is a 6 min walk from the Shijo station, check-in was simple and our upgrade to a Superior Room (unfortunately twin beds) gave us extra space. Shower in the room excellent, note most room windows are frosted so you can’t see out of them, your not missing much from the one window we had with a view all you could see were the buildings across the narrow street. The hotel has a lounge on the 2nd floor offering both complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks & stacks which we visited at the end of each day. Free WiFi was excellent and in room coffee pod machine a welcome addition, (note bottled water is available at reception, it’s not replenished in your room). Convenience stores are readily available around the hotel. When we stayed there was major construction taking place next door (signs are posted in the hotels lifts), during our stay we never heard a thing from the construction site, this could be because we left our room before 10am each day returning in the evening. Enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend, onto to Osaka…

A wonderful walking area! The staff were the kindest people, and were extremely helpful. They left a lovely birthday note in our room for my husband!
