Dutch Barge, Fisherman's Wharf, Sandwich

A beautiful boat, with ample space. It was very clean and comfortable. Communication and information provided by the host was excellent.

Location is excellent for shops,pubs and restaurants. Beds on board were clean and comfortable. Owner was very responsive to issues on board.

Cleanliness not good in kitchen. Grease and dust evident and also by sides of beds. Sewage issues in one of showers and toilets. Owners came to fix but was not resolved fully so just used other shower and toilet. Lots of smells so constantly spraying air freshener. We had good weather but no comfortable outdoor on deck seating apart from 2 rusty wood seats and a bench. A table would have been nice. Additional seating in a black box. When opened full of dust and cobwebs! No egg seat even though owner said was in there. When I saw a mouldy bean bag i quickly closed up. So always ventured out. Disappointing as I stayed before with previous owner and on deck was clean and inviting. I saw on other comments by owners that the outdoor area is being renovated,it would make sense to renovate before charging people to stay. I thought that considering issues we had,a partial refund might have been offered but this did not happen.

The location is brilliant for exploring the beautiful town of Sandwich and many other nearby places. We didn't leave Sandwich (we didn't want to leave the barge for long :)) Also, I would like to give a shout-out to Celia - she came to clean the barge after our stay. What a brilliant women - full of knowledge about the local area and the barge. She could not have been more helpful and even offered to jump start my car when it broke down. Meeting Celia brought our time on the barge to a very happy and cheerful end.

I didn't like not being able to flush toilet paper but we got over it ............. that is barge life! I really don't have anything negative to say.

Loved the location of the barge. Super close to the town and a perfect little retreat for our group gathering. Hosts were lovely and very helpful. A wonderful experience overall!

Really spacious yet still cosy and in a great location for the town, restaurants and pubs but also the beach
