Be mindful this is a very old property, so if you are on the taller side, be prepared to duck!
USthe place is very centrally located and i found it very easy to get around - it's in such a quiet part of town and really contributes to a relaxing stay. it was so cool to stay in a traditional setting and the host made sure my stay was comfortable! the japanese breakfast was amazing, definitely add it as part of your experience!

USI wanted to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan on my first trip to Japan. Inakatei was wonderful: beautiful little garden, tatami mats in my room, great location near many temples and shrines.
The bed could have been more comfortable (it was three thin mattresses piled on top of each other). There is very little storage for clothes, but I just kept most things in my suitcase.

PLWe visited Inakatei in October during our honeymoon for 2 nights to have a real Ryokan (200 years old) experience. Our visit in Inakatei Ryokan was wonderful. For a long time we have not met such a hospitable host - the Lady provided us with all the necessary information to get by the Ryokan rules, but was also very helpful in recommending us what to visit and where to eat in Kyoto and in cities around Kyoto (Nara, Osaka). And we have to mention that she greeted us at the door every single time we entered the Ryokan with smile and joyful chat. And the Japanese breakfast that was provided every morning was totally worth paying for - so tasty, versatile and authentic. Great Lady, great Place.
We had to be quiet in the night due to thin walls and doors
DEAmazing location, down a quiet street within easy walking distance to all the main sites of Gion. The host was very kind, always available and even gave me a gift of teas when I was leaving as I loved the ones provided so much. Room cleaned and fresh water provided every day.
It was quite expensive and I probably would have stayed for two nights instead of 3, but it was worth it for the original ryokan experience.
FRUn Ryokan dans son jus! Vieux de 200 ans! pour 450 € / jour ce doit être super! Promesse tenue, c'est vrai, il est vieux de 200 ans et visiblement rien a changé depuis lors.
Au fil du temps, les équipements, l'installation électrique, les peintures, les boiseries, la literie ...n'ont pas été entretenus. C'est vieux, mais l'espace dans notre chambre fait quand même illusion... Le onsen? une cuve de 70/60/50 avec de l'eau chaude dans un espace étriqué... Nous y sommes restés 3 nuits... peut être un peu trop.
