Nothing- we couldn’t stay

The room, the location, the lack of staff, the smell

Simple, Basic but clean. Perfect for a bed for the night.

Only problem was that the bathroom door didn't close in room 6

Nothing - apart from it being close to the venue we were attending.

Arrived at 6pm to find the front door locked and reception closed. I called three times - no answer; no divert to a manned number. I waited outside for ages until a carer from the dementia facility kindly let me in as she was leaving. Turns out, my door access code was sitting in an envelope at reception. Genius! Because obviously, emailing it beforehand would’ve been far too convenient. The external lobby I had to wait in? Eau de mould with a hint of neglect. When inside, I eventually found the parking validation instructions tucked away in a shadowy corner. No soap in the room — but hey, there’s a Spar next door, so that’s fine, right? And the hot water and heating? On a fixed, unsuitable schedule. £68 a night for this experience? Bargain — if you enjoy being locked out until reception opens the following morning, sniffing damp, breathing mould, and sourcing your own hygiene products. Honestly, the place is a health and safety hazard and should be shut down.

Location

Hot water was only available at certain times. Walked passed an open door where there was a woman lay on the bed obviously under the influence of drugs. Pubic hair on the bed sheets. Room dusty and not cleaned to a reasonable standard. Dreadful.

We didn’t stay there as when we arrived we found numerous issues wrong with it and placed a complaint to Booking.Com immediately and have since submitted photo evidence.

As a complaint is currently under investigation it would not be appropriate to comment.
