"It was a good experience but based on other reviews i expected more."

8.0

Very clean, pick up and drop off by 4x4 included on price, great people. Isolated camp, not near other. Very good communication with Ali before the trip but he was not present at the camp. 3 employees to serve you, sing and dance. Food served at 8 pm. We paid for camels to go watch the sunrise and this was the highlight of my night in Sahara.

They have a shower but no hot water, waited enough but still cold . Near the dunes but still 30 min by camel to get to the dunes. Not traditional food served for dinner.(cold french fries and small turkey)

"Brilliant camp with amazing views and wonderful staff"

Amazing view of the sand dunes, great activities and lovely food. We loved the evening music and star gazing. We stayed two nights and explored the dunes from the camp. The staff were lovely.

"Great staff energy, good facilities with AC, clear instructions and communication"

10.0

- Super friendly staff: everyone welcomed us with an undistinguished energy, especial thanks to Ali, who guided us through the desert with amazing stories, always on time and with a lot of fun! - Great facilities: everything working well, air conditioners available over the night (mandatory in our opinion) - Great communication: as soon as we made the reservations, we received detailed info regarding the tours, the transportation to the camp and others, all very well planned in advance

"Great camp , great people!"

10.0

We went in July ( very hot, low season), so we had the entire camp for ourselves. It’s a small camp and feels that even full is not crowded. The tents are very comfortable , tastefully decorated ( as the entire camp is), and the food and staff were great . A special word of appraisal for Ibrahim , who took care of us during the entire stay and was our private guide! We took all the suggested activities and were great. ( camel ride at arrival. 4x4 tour and quad ride in the dunes)

We stayed in the tent more close to the restaurant area and the noise of the generator at night was very loud. ( bring your ear plugs) Please notice air conditioning is centrally controlled and was only available at night after dinner (from 22:00 until 4:00/5:00 am… but you are in the desert, so heat is always part of the equation :) These are only remarks .. we would stay here again happily and recommend it without shadow of doubt.

We took a camel ride to reach the camp - and really enjoyed it! The dinner was really good and the brakfast next morning too. Late in the evening we were surpised by a musical performance at a campfire - an experience that brough up my memories from the childhood when I had been spending summer holidays at a scout camps.

Next morning I was called to pay for a bottle of water I asked for at the arrival. Furthermore, I was interrogated as a supect for drinking another bottle of water without paying for it. I felt really uncomfortable for a while.

"Broken AC, late driver, and struggles in getting sunset tours booked. Left us disappointed"

4.0

The rooms themselves were quite comfortable and clean - the bathroom was very spacious and clean and the beds were plush and comfortable. The camp itself is beautiful especially at sundown and sunrise, and the dunes nearby are equally beautiful. The music session by the staff is charming and fun to listen to.

When we arrived to the meeting point, the Amskou driver arrived to take us from the meeting point to the campsite over 45 minutes late. Once we reached the camp, we were told that we were unable to be booked onto camel tours or ATV rides because we needed to have booked those activities ahead of time as per the “message we were sent via email”. The message in question just listed the available activities and prices but didn’t indicate that you needed to book them before hand, which was certainly confusing. After paying the driver extra to take us back to the ATV point, we were eventually able to get booked onto a sunset ATV ride, which was spectacular. The stress and communication issues of getting to that point could have been avoided with a clearer message and better communication of booking requirements. Finally, we were told first that the Air Conditioning on our room would “only work after sunset”. Then, when the AC still didn’t work after sunset, we asked Ali if he could help us fix the AC and he said “the AC was newly installed and won’t work tonight”. This left us with no AC in a warm room - which was disappointing considering the room was advertised as having an AC. EDIT: As requested by Amskou's response, I have attached a picture that shows that my reservation was meant to include Air Conditioning. It is clearly listed as being included, but we were told in person first that the AC only turns on after sundown and then, after sundown, that the AC unit was simply not functional altogether.

The room was beautiful. The tent is very spacious and comfortable. We opted for the camel trip to the camp. It was amazing! The dunes are absolutely gorgeous. Be aware: the camp is very far into the desert. Pro: you are very secluded and not surrounded by other camps. Con: the camel ride took 2hours.

We know we booked a stay in a luxury camp, but we would have loved for the experience to be a bit more authentic. The food for example was tasty (and a lot: four courses!), but quite European. Which is a pitty. We would have preferred a traditional tajine or something similar. But overall no complaints!
