Amskou Camp

We arrived at a specific place in the desert, from where transport was arranged to the camp. We were received very well by Mr.Ilias, the caretaker as well as Mr.Ali, the owner of the camp. The stay was very clean and comfortable. Mr.Ilias went out of his way to ensure that our stay was comfortable, and that we received sumptuous vegetarian food. We had booked a day long tour of the desert, fossils, and mines-Mr.Ali accompanied us on the tour and gave us a lot of relevant information along the entire tour. Thereafter, we did the camel ride to watch the sunset in the dunes. It was magical. Everything was organised through the camp. It was easy and convenient. Their services were very professional and there was no hidden costs. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was convenient. The ambience at night along with music around the campfire was a fantastic experience. After our stay at the desert, we had to travel to Marrakech, and Mr.Ali was very prompt in arranging transport for the same at an affordable price (cheaper than the ones we checked online). Overall, I would highly recommend this campsite if you are looking for a unique experience.

We spent two nights at the camp which we would definitely recommend. It’s a unique experience and spending two nights was totally worth it. Communication before / during our stay and transport from the meeting point in Merzouga to the camp worked very well (parking was also provided next to a hotel in Merzouga), staff was friendly and the camp and tents were very nice. Judging from passing by some other camps on the way, this one is on the smaller side which we liked a lot. Also, it’s further away from others so you really get to enjoy the quiet of the desert and see the stars at night. The tents are very comfy and spacious and everything seemed very clean and well maintained. Food was good. The fireside and live music at night were great. Also very much enjoyed the camel ride to the sunset. Apart from the camp itself, what made our stay an even more special experience were the tours offered by the camp. We did the day tour with the local guide Ibrahim and would totally recommend it. He takes you to the black desert, an oasis, searching for fossils, listening to local music, try berber pizza, and many more amazing things. Ibrahim was a great guide, very friendly, explained a lot, and overall was very helpful (definitely 10/10 if we provided a review just for the tour and him :)).

The most amazing camp seemingly far away from all others on the edge of the fine sand dunes. We were met by our pre booked camels for a sunset walk through the dunes and taken to our camp. Our evening meal was amazing, fine food at its best! All staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Following our meal we enjoyed music and dancing around the camp fire, listening to and playing some Berber beats. The tent was simple yet luxurious and finely decorated throughout. Beds and duvets incredibly warm and comfy and ensuite bathroom exceeded all expectations for a desert camping facility. Ali was incredibly understanding when I arrived without any cash for camels ( be warned the only cash point facility in town regularly runs out of cash at the weekends apparently) and helped me sort this out in the pick up hotel. Loved it all !

A fab desert camp on the high side of clamping. It had everything you needed. Would definitely recommend.
