Staff service was exceptional! They very helpful and accommodating. Food from dinner and breakfast was excellent as well (my favorite dishes were the sashimi and nabe). Location was also pretty and bus service was great!

Room air felt slightly musty/damp at times but was not much of an issue.

Nice experience of a Ryokan, what you imagine it would be. The food was very good.

The bedroom bathroom was a bit old.

This traditional Japanese inn was a fabulous way to end our stay in Kyoto. Only 30 mins from the city centre but surrounded by incredible natural beauty. You can book the courtesy bus (quick and easy) from the local station and back - the staff will send you an email with the details. Stunning views from the room, en-suite western beds in a tatami area, traditional cotton robes and slippers to wear in the building were a treat! Would have loved to have bought them and taken them home! Beds were firm but comfortable with good pillows. There was a pot for tea, with tea bags and hot water (no kettle but you didn't need it because you could ask the staff for anything). We bought the udon noodles (fabulous) for lunch, and booked dinner and breakfast with the room - both traditional style served in the dining area with huge picture windows overlooking and autumn maple forest. The onsen hot baths were so relaxing - they have the traditional women's and men's but you can also book the private onsen for a couple. The bath windows open up into a view of the forest. Waking up in the morning was like a dream with the birds in the autumn trees and the sound of the river below. Don't miss the walk to the river in the morning, I'm not fit but at all but it's an easy walk down and back with shallow steps and flat paths that make it very easy. If you are fit, there are longer walks. The river walk is just perfection. The staff were so kind and lovely. After hours drinks were in the vending machine next door but if you like snacks and want your own drinks you might need to BYO. Such great value for a traditional night's stay, dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended!

The shuttle hours - you artive 2 houes after check in amd leave at 0920 check out at 1000 is early bad dinner not like other ryokans public bath- poor facilty
