If you want a classic ryokan experience, this is the place! We stayed just one night and enjoyed it very much. The staff and the food were fantastic, especially the 10-course dinner. The rooms, with traditional tatami floors, yukata kimonos, and plenty of tea, were excellent. It was a great place to rest in the middle of our Japan trip, especially after the bustle of Tokyo and before exploring the Kyoto area.

Even though the experience was nice, we found it a bit on the expensive side. The base price is already significant, and if you want to use the private onsen, you need to pay an extra 4,000 yen. The dinner was great, but, like the onsen, considering the price, at least one complimentary drink could have been included.

Absolutely stunning location with a very friendly staff and an overall great stay.

The futons are not that comfortable.
