Momijiya Honkan Takaosansou

In the Momijiya Honkan Takaosansou we had chance to experience a little of Japanese life style. The place was very clean, the staff was very friendly and very helpfull. The dinner and breakfast were included with our staying. The food was very good. We have been very pleased with the service they provide.

Loved the breakfast! The views were incredible! The onsen was relaxing and not crowded. I used the onsen twice & most of the time I was alone. The staff members were helpful, friendly, & patient.

We couldn’t figure out how to use the air conditioner but it was cool enough not to really need it. The toilet was very loud when flushing but it was an interesting design.

Staff was very friendly and helpful! From the pick up via their shuttle bus, the stay and them taking us back to the station the following day, everything was wonderful. Booking the private onsen was no problem during check in and we the meals were so delicious!

L'établissement en pleine montagne a rendu l'expérience magique ! On a été accueilli comme des princesses et les repas étaient délicieux !

La salle de bain était un peu vétuste mais ça restait propre

1. The staff was extremely attentive: greeting us upon arrival, bringing our bags to the room, making sure we had tea in the room, setting out our bed. 2. The private onsen was very available when we arrived and the spa itself is beautiful, clean, and very relaxing. The onsen opens out to the mountains and we got to soak while enjoying beautiful fall mountain views. 3. The dinner and breakfast were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff is so nice about explaining what all the food was to us so don't be afraid to ask! The food is definitely authentic local cuisine so I can see how some westerners would not enjoy it but we thought it was fantastic. 4. The location is nice and very close to a nice walking trail where we got to enjoy a morning walk with beautiful fall foliage. 5. Our room with the mountain view was so beautiful and serene. The hotel did warn us about stink bugs that are in the area but we kept our windows closed and none got in the room.

I read reviews about the bathroom that is in the room not being the best. I would agree with this. However I think staying at a ryokan like this, we didn't really need to use our private bathroom that much. The private and public onsens are meant to be used for bathing so the shower in the room being older was not a big deal to us.
