Te Tiro Accommodation

We stayed in a cottage (2 adults 2 kids) and it was like a fairytale! The location, the facilities and the VIEW!

Tricky to find - follow the instructions given by Angus, not the physical address in the signature block.

C’est très cosy et l’aménagement est très bien pensé. Il y a des chauffages et tout ce qu’il faut pour un séjour confortable. La vue et l’endroit sont absolument fantastiques. Vous pouvez même voir des vers luisant à quelques mètres de la. Angus le propriétaire est formidable et de bon conseil.

Le petit déjeuner est sans option. C’est pain et céréales, il faut apporter si on veut autre chose.

It was all great!

This is a tremendous place to stay if you’re coming to Waitomo to explore the phenomenal caving system. The proprietor, Angus, is a wealth of knowledge and information about everything New Zealand. I highly recommend you stay in the tent, we call it a yurt, as it is the most unique place we have ever stayed while traveling. The view from the deck over the valley is breathtaking at all times of the day. The night sky from this location- just wow! The little kitchen shack and bathroom facility attached to the location is very private and constructed with love and purposeful intention- way to go Angus! Pick Angus’ brain for what to do and where to go in NZ. Everything he told us, we have done, and we have not been disappointed! The drive up to Ti Tiro is very twisty- so be prepared for that and you MUST bring your own food and beverage as there is nowhere to eat or drink anywhere in the area. Do not plan on shopping in Waitomo as there’s no shopping there- shop in Te Kūiti first. Shop before you get anywhere near Waitomo. Bring lots of beer, wine, and snacks as we had fun visiting with some of the other guests in the other 2 cabins at the sweet little bar we had that came with our tent property. This place is a gem! Stay 2 nights at least!

Extremely small to the point of being impractical, for example no comfortable chairs. Toilet was accessed by leaving the very small living/sleeping area and via the outside deck entering a separate shower/toilet building

Amazing views and all the comforts you could want from a glamping experience!

A great place to relax in nature! The cottage offers a wonderful view of the valley. It is especially beautiful during sunset and sunrise. There is a small cave with glowing worms. And a very pleasant host, Angus, who explained everything in detail.

The view was spectacular and Angus, our host, was the absolute best. These accommodations are located in the middle of a 1,600 acre ranch and we were encouraged to wander and explore the property during our stay. Also, as an unexpected bonus, there was a small grotto with glowworms a short walk from our chalet. Cheers to Angus
