Shipwrecked Hostel

Lieu accueillant, très joliment décoré. Une propreté impeccable et des équipements au top.

Un peu loin de la plage et bruit constant de la route qui passe juste en dessous. Cependant, lorsque nous sommes dans le dortoir, nous n'entendons pas la route.

Excelente todo lastima que pasamos solo 1 noche jaja

Friendly Dutch owner Sander was present at the hostel frequently and easy to reach via whatsapp when checking in and had great recommendations about the area. Hostel had everything we need (great beds, good wifi, filtered water and a good kitchen). High recommended for anyone stopping by Uvita.

All was great

The staff was great, very friendly, and always ready to help. The place was a perfect Costa Rica experience with the views and the great spots close by. The facilities were well thought and very comfortable. The deck was nice, hammocks and my favorite hanging rocking chair. Yoga mats for some early exercise.

There was nothing for sale. That would have been nice..

The owner is very friendly, thoughtful, and caring. In my case he even went out of his way (since I had two large suitecases, a backpack, and a couple shopping bags from in between moves locally) to store my stuff and bump me up to an open double bed with two lockers. The two lockers also helped me store my quiet juicer so I could juice quietly in the kithen while others were asleep in the next room. The volunteers and guests all seemed happy with the accomodations, and everyone got along well, partly due to the environment created by our host. Thank you so much, Sander.

I had a great time at Shipwreck Hostel in early January 2025. Had a great time. Staff were great and really helpful. Allowed me to leave my bag overnight. Great place.

The place is easy to reach since it's near a bigger road. The dorms have AC and the WiFi seemed stable (14Mbps down). Staff is friendly and the whole building is super awesome. The "upper deck" is basically a big lounge where you can hang out or play a game. When I arrived I wished I had booked more nights. The bed and little pods were comfortable. Even though I booked as one person I got a 2 person bed. The kitchen has everything you need and the supermarket is across the road. The rooms are kept clean and the bed/pod has a recess into the wall where to light and power socket are. The art on the walls and the little signs really brings it all together. If you are looking to stay in Uvita I highly recommend.
