Liked being left to It and easy communication

Feel like some furniture needs updating. Such as the kitchen table. And no WiFi

"Good nights sleep in the countryside in a renovated Grade II listed house."

8.0

We were a party of 5 cyclists doing the Cantii Way. This quirky property was a converted Grade II listed building that the owners painstakingly restored to a high quality into a 3 bedroom house comprising 2 double and 1 twin bedroom, kitchen and lounge. The host lady was extremely friendly and took time to explain the do's and dont's. The kitchen was quite large with dining area and user friendly with all facilities and utilities to cook if you needed them, we didn't. There was a secluded area at the back of the property to lock up our bikes and this also included a table and chairs with a breath taking view over the downs. There was a tennis court to the rear but not sure if it was allowed to use this, but if available a great facility if you fancied a knock and for kids to play. Plenty of free parking. We got a very good nights sleep and I would not hesitate to book here again if I was in the area.

The stairs were a bit creeky, but this is the rustic nature of the renovation and not much could be done about that. There was only one toilet and one shower (both separate) so night time visits may wake up others but it did not affect me and coordinated morning showers are required. The television was not working but I'm not sure we were operating it properly but it would be needed if a family let the property for any length of time. There being no ensuite bathrooms may put folk off but the other cooking facilities and value for money out-weighed this disadvantage. Oh yes and the dividing bedroom door had no obvious locking system but we managed ok.

"Good value"

8.0

It was located perfectly for our purposes. Nice and quiet in a small village. We only stayed for one night but it was comfortable and met our needs really well. The kitchen had what we needed to prepare a meal and the wifi worked. It was reasonably priced and much better value than two hotel rooms would have been.

It did not matter to us so it wasn't an issue,, but if you're travelling with children, take board games/cards or download things to watch on a laptop as there is no signal for the tv.

"relaxing, cosy home away from home."

9.0

staff were friendly and flexible to us arriving an hour early. nice little extras with shampoo and conditioners as well as towels included. lovely character to the property and rooms were very spacious! it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere but only a 10 minute drive to the nearest Tesco superstore so best of both worlds.

"Overpriced tat without charm unless you like cobwebs"

2.0

The location is quiet

The barn is cold and dirty. The owners son was in charge when we arrived and did not come to greet us despite having called. I rang the house bell to try to find the light switches and he failed to answer the door. The hot water is electric and takes a long time in the kitchen to heat up. The plug doesn’t fit the kitchen sink making it hard to wash up. The wiring is madness and the bathroom and toilet light come on together. The stairs are very steep and I cannot believe they pass fire regulations.
