La Ripa Camere Vernazza - The Spinnaker Suite

Room was spotless, and host, Virginia very pleasant and helpful. The private terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the town of Vernazza was spectacular. Watched the sunset both nights of our stay from the terrace.

Room was on the small side, but that really was not an issue, as the weather was great and we were away most of the day, then on the terrace at night.

Very nice hotel with an amazing rooftop terrace. We had amazing weather so we used the terrace to the fullest. It was the main reason we booked this room. The room it self was very small but newly refurbished. Really nice room but a little bit on the small size it the weather is not the best. The town was so beautiful but restaurants with good food is limited. The hotels own restaurants was amazing, the best one in town.

highly recommend, very nice staff, amazing location and view-the terrace is not physically attached to the room (about 10 steps away) but is still very private and the view could not be better - NOTE that Vernazza like the other cinque Terre towns is built on hillsides-so for this particular room you go up 89 steps to get to the room - that's not a big problem as the groups of steps are interrupted by flat surfaces intermittently but if you have a heavy backpack and suitcase (like I did) the effort of going up with luggage is noticeable - once you are in the room its not bad just walking up without luggage and the walk is amazingly interesting and unique. There is also a really good restaurant about 50 -100 feet on the right as you start up the path from the main road (the only real "road" in town). Helpful hint is that the "road" to the room is just past the pharmacy with the green cross on the left side of the main road-it looks like a wide staircase or sidewalk. The room is about 10 steps from the hiking path to Corniglia so great for hiking between towns. You also get a discount at restaurant Gatticco which has seafood where you can watch your fish get cooked- it does not have many seats.

nothing really - but would be good to have a clear map/picture of how to get to the office - the "streets" are not what most people would expect as "streets"- more like alleys or stairways which was initially very confusing

The location was perfect. It was high up the bill so keep that in mind when bringing big bags. The outside deck was private and gorgeous.

The only down side to my stay was construction early in the mornings and most of the day . I realize this is off season and many people are trying to update their properties

Terrace

The weather! It rained and while the host has no control over that, however a mat inside the door would have been good to keep from tracking water in. We travelled from overseas and there was not a lot of space for suitcases or clothing. We had backpacks and even so it was a little tight!

The view was incredible!

100 stairs to get up there

The terrace and view are incredible!!!!! Perfect for a morning coffee or to relax after a day of hiking or boating. We loved our stay here and highly recommend it. We would definitely stay again.

As others have mentioned, there are a lot of stairs to get here, so keep that in mind and plan accordingly. This is pretty standard for Vernazza and other towns too. The room is small (tough to find room for 2 suitcases, but we expected this based on other reviews) but cozy and well kept. It was worth it for us for the view.
