The historic building complex in which the hotel is located is absolutely stunning (with some works still proceeding) and the interior fitouts are also of a high design standard including stylish sanitary ware and modern furniture. We were lucky to be upgraded for which we were grateful (nice gesture), though the extra room space was actually rather souless.

Proper maintenance and management is sadly lacking. The mostly younger staff try to help, but training and resources are clearly limited. Food (we had breakfasts and one supper) is uninspiring with poor product. There is rising damp in rooms and cleaning is far from perfect. All of this might be pardonable if it were not for the supposedly 4-5 star rating and the high price charged (we paid Rs 15,000/ night). It seems there are fake ratings online. We stayed in Taj Chandigargh afterwards for only slightly more money and the difference is extreme.

The property didn’t feel like a heritage property at all . The property was not at all worth it and It was overpriced . The hotel charged 3 times the price that it was worth . The walls had seapage , pool was dirty , the gardens were not maintained ,the swing was not maintained. The place was noisy, staff was not at all about service but kept chatting internally . There was no attendant , I had to personally go call one each time. Breakfast was very bad. We are highly disappointed by the service and ambiance and feel over charged and under delivered .

Awesome 4-star luxury hotel with all facilities and within a short drive to Golden temple as well as the rest of downtown. Staff is extremely good and accommodating. They gave me a free upgrade for the room. Morning breakfast was excellent with buffet style of cold and hot foods. The room was pristine. The property also had a good swimming pool. Clean and safe location. You can get auto /local transport from its gate, and the security was kind enough to arrange this for us. There is plenty of parking space. Overall, it's totally worth it, and I definitely recommend it.

Some stains here and there on the furniture, bathroom door didn’t close properly, sink water pressure annoyingly high, some loose bathroom fittings, swimming pool had algal stains on some of the tiles - and worst of all, for the price point (or even much less) Amritsar has better hotels in this category! (But if you REALLY love historical buildings, even if they aren’t as well maintained, then you will have to make some compromises)
