The Earth Amritsar, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

We stayed for 4 nights in this elegant hotel. Enjoyed the aloo parothas with achar and yoghurt for breakfast; staff were extremely attentive. Being able to soak in a hot bath after a day of walking was bliss. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had great sleep as it was quiet despite being close to a busy road. The large room did not take long to warm up using the 'air conditioner.' The staff at the reception were all very courteous and helpful. One of the guards at the gate, I think his name was Mukesh, always greeted us with a huge smile on his face and we had pleasant conversations with him. We only ordered room service once; the biryani portion was huge, it came promptly and was delicious. Shops with prices written on the shawls and other clothes were walking distance from the hotel, albeit across a very busy road. There were many places to eat close by, including a 'food court' attached to the hotel with Costa Coffee and Burger King (great on the day we wanted food that was not too spicy). We had a late checkout at 2 pm and they kept our bags safely until we departed at 6 pm. Overall we had an exceptional stay and will definitely stay here again when we return to Amritsar in the future.

For the first two mornings, we appeared to be the only guests at breakfast and the heating was not switched on in the dining room (it was 7 C outside) and the buffet breakfast selection was limited. When the hotel had more guests for the subsequent 2 days, the heating was switched on and there was a lot more on offer for the buffet breakfast.

the staff is poorly trained...not expected of 5 star property...more like a three star. no buffet beakfast so hardly any variety,,,,serving manners..not at all happy.Balcony door,bathroom door...both locks were jammed, had street light coming trhough the blinds, annoying music playing till 12 in the night...had to call the reception to switch it off..

This is a beautiful heritage property that has been thoughtfully and restored to a high standard. Huge four poster bed in lovely room with super high ceilings. The breakfast was outstanding, probably the best we had at a hotel during our tour of Rajastan. The staff were extremely helpful, particularly the guys on the gate who helped us flag down tuktuks and taxis and communicate where we wanted to go in Hindi.

Honking horns from the nearby busy road could be heard in our room, so not for very light sleepers. There location is a short (10 min) ride from the Golden Temple and main tourist spots so if you want to be walking distance stay elsewhere.

Breakfast spread could have better. But ample of options in the food court attached to the property.

The rooms are large and comfortable. Staff is courteous and cooperative

Breakfast was ordinary. Common toilets had a strange smell. One of the rooms also had a foul odour. One bathroom kept flooding. Towels were of poor quality
