The New Inn Clovelly

Great location. Top of the hill in cloverlly which was an amazing town. Great room overlooking the sea but dated.

Position

No curtains or blinds in bathroom woken at 2.30 from noise of someone using shower or toilet in other rooms cleanliness in rooms and public places needs to have a complete overhaul

To stay overnight in this adorable village is a treat. And there are not many options. The New Inn or the Red Lion down at the harbor. So, you kind of get what you get. The New Inn is a historic building and the location is perfect. The hotel seems in need of a pretty hefty refresh. The lobby had an odd smell and there was a huge orange spider in our shower when we got into our room (#8). The bathroom could use a deep clean. But all the staff were super friendly and welcoming! Overall a nice experience.

The price seemed pretty high for the condition of the bathroom and facilities.

Its location

The hygiene was terrible. We had are evening meal in the pub restaurant but we were also joined by the pubs cat Elton he was aloud to sit on the restaurant tables (nobody sat at them )some people were feeding him with cutlery. At break fast cakes and butter were left uncovered with flies landing on the food. The tables were dirty the cups and cutlery would stick to the table we had to laugh faulty towers spring to mind. I would say the room was ok but never worth what we paid for one evening £145

Everything was as we expected for a wonderful stay

The New Inn is in an excellent location . The bed was comfortable but the room wasn’t as nice as the photos . We had an excellent evening meal, very good value with friendly efficient staff.

The breakfast was very average.
