The New Inn Clovelly

Die Lage und das Frühstück sind einwandfrei .

Das Zimmer / Hotel hat ein wenig Renovierungsstau.

Die Lage

Es gab keinen Föhn, weder in der Gemeinschaftsdusche noch beim Zimmerwaschbecken gab es warmes Wasser. Es gab nur ein Handtuch und keine Duschmatte. Das Deckenlicht im Zimmer ging nicht. Das WC im Gemeinschaftbad war vom Vorbenutzer dreckig und er hat die Tür offen gelassen, während er auf der Toilette war.

Frühstück mit frisch- und selbstgebackenen Scones - so lecker 😋

Der Koch ist am Abend nicht erschienen, so dass das Restaurant nicht öffnen konnte. Da es in Clovelly kaum Alternativen gibt, mussten wir zum Abendessen unsere Vorräte plündern 😅

Clovelly ist very nice.

Die Fenster waren so verzogen, dass sie sich nicht schließen ließen. Jedes Geräusch auf der Straße, die Gespräche auf den Balkonen der anderen Zimmer und vor allem die Party im Restaurant gegenüber waren quasi im Zimmer. Am Morgen sollte ab 8.00 Uhr Frühstück sein - bis 8.30 Uhr war noch niemand da, der auch nur die Kaffeemaschine angestellt hätte. Auch der Checkout blieb unbesetzt. Wir sind ohne Frühstück los, dank booking.com hatten wir ja wenigstens gezahlt.

We had the one night stay and were told us they were not cooking food and offered us crisps, there were no others restaurants in the area, they finally agreed to food and service was awful, staff did not know what they were doing, booked for 6.30pm, first course was 8.30. Asked if we wanted peas, no peas and just given a salad instead. Lady complained about fish, another guest should have received poppadoms etc and didn’t, said there was no meat in his curry which should’ve been, our Ketchup was a funny colour. Went bed as not a great lounge area then noisy washing machinery from the kitchens into the night for hours. Breakfast was ok, again just very disorganised, family of 8 but nothing set up for them. Apparently not part of the Clovelly village and owned separately, was a real disappointment.

The position of the hotel.

We had our evening meal in the pub and had to wait nearly two hours for our food. There was obviously something going on in the kitchen staff wise,it was like something out of fawlty towers.
