The Marlborough

Room was really clean. Hotel great location. Bar staff friendly.

Bathroom door looked like it had been kicked open at some stage. Wouldn't close and wood splinters visible. Various fittings were adequate but looked 'tired'. Plug by bed was sparking when inserted phone charger. Phone outside room went off at 5am and then alarm beeping until we left. Not the greatest nights sleep!

Good location right in The Marlborough high street Parking wasn’t the issue we were expecting as we were out all day and overnight parking is free on the high street Breakfast was plentiful- huge portion sizes and good choice Our room was clean and the bed comfortable We used the earplugs provided and the noise didn’t keep us awake (it is a very old building with squeaky floorboards and zero soundproofing) Staff were great

The room needs a makeover- simple removing the threadbare chair would be a start as it gets in the way so you can’t get at the blinds to close them The carpet is moth eaten and shabby A shower screen is always preferable to the unhygienic shower curtain We didn’t like the minibar arrangement as it’s confusing which things are provided for free and which are chargeable (expensive!) I nearly packed the crisps for our picnic then realised they would cost us £2.50 a packet! I

Clean with very good food Thebes was comfortable and the bedding spotless

The carpet in the room was a bit tired and the bathroom too.

The breakfast is very good the room is lovely.

Reception on arrival, we're a little early but staff assumed we wanted to book in and were very short with us. We were quite happy to have a drink in the bar and were only letting them know we had arrived. One female member of staff was clearly annoyed at something and shortly after our arrival walked out!

Full of charm, very comfortable and staff were super friendly. Excellent value for money.

Nothing, it was all good.

It was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly, especially Luke. Food was delicious and plentiful.

We had to park a couple of streets away.
