Dinner was excellent value. The menu, whilst a little limited, was fully mastered by the kitchen. The fish pie was the best my wife had eaten in many a year and the caesar salad was excellent. Good beer and wine too.

"Throughly Enjoyable, would definitely go back"

The breakfast was very substantial, lovely and well cooked. The room was really lovely with all that ancient charm. The bathroom was very clean and large, and guess what a window, it’s a rare thing these days. The people were so friendly, we had a lovely stay x

"Great location, nice staff but shabby rooms!!!"

4.0

It promotes itself as a boutique stay in quaint rooms. I get that. I’ve stayed twice before during the year. Staff are always chatty and friendly and I even got a wave from the chef from the kitchen window when I left.

There’s quaintness and there’s shabby. Unfortunately the place looks shabby. First visit I was in a huge room with a four poster bed and a great bathroom. Second time I was put into a smaller room with character at the side of the building. This time I was given a tiny room overlooking the courtyard with a dated, shabby bathroom with no curtains! If I came back a fourth time god knows where I would be staying (cupboard under the stairs). Breakfast was ok but the run out of stuff. I was going to eat in the hotel in the evening but they’d run out of a lot of the food on the menu. Don’t get me wrong it’s a lovely location with nice staff but the rooms require a proper makeover. Disappointing visit!

"Definitely would return!"

The staff and food were amazing! Right in the town and easy to walk about

Rooms are small as it is a very old building. Bathroom updated but we had problems getting adequate cold water in the shower

"This was a great place to stay."

10.0

The room was lovely, the meals were great (both dinner and breakfast). The staff were all kind, helpful and genuinely friendly.

There is a little street noise especially early in the morning but it is not too difficult to sleep through.

"Excellent value for money."

Central location. Tastefully furnished comfortable room

Although parking is advertised, it was no possible to park in the tiny car park primarily because other users had parked so badly.
