"Delightful stay in a glorious Manor House steeped in history!"

10.0

A wonderful stay in a glorious ancient Manor House, steeped in history and with its character totally preserved. Tim and Sue were very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed Tim’s tales of potential ghosts and all the filming which the house has been used for. We stayed in Laline’s room with beautiful beams, a very comfortable four poster bed and huge sitting area. Be aware that the bathroom is up a few more steps within the room (not a problem for us) but there was plenty of hot water and really lovely toiletries. We weren’t able to make too much use of the facilities as we were staying in order to attend a wedding in nearby Notley Tithe Barn but I was thrilled to be able to play the Broadwood grand piano in the guests sitting room (Sue even went out of her way to lend me an appropriate pair of glasses to read the music as I hadn’t brought mine with me - above and beyond!!). The breakfasts were delicious - lovely homemade fruit compote, yogurts and cereals, local apple juice and a piping hot full English breakfast of the best kind. The icing on the cake was eating it in the most gorgeous 14th century room which had featured in an episode of Midsummer Murders (I watched it when we got home and noted that one of the main suspects ate breakfast in the same chair as me - great fun!). A fabulous stay, thank you so much!

Loved everything - we will hopefully be back!

"Very welcoming and very good breakfast. Friendly couple and great location and building."

6.0

The bed was damp. It was comfortable other than this. The bathroom was ok but we had not specified a shower which normally we would do. The hosts made every effort to compensate for this, and no criticism of them is made in this regard.

only the dampness of the bed.

"Clean, comfortable, excellent breakfast"

9.0

A very historic property with friendly owners and an excellent breakfast. Felt like being in an Agatha Christie novel, sat at breakfast with everybody around a large dining table. Very clean and comfortable, big rooms (we were in the yellow room), and delightful garden.

With this being a very old property don’t expect totally up to date fixtures and fittings but this also adds to the charm of the place (FYI there are no outer locks on the room doors but there are bolts when you’re inside)

"The perfect trip back in time"

10.0

My wife and I recently stayed at Long Crendon Manor B&B, a stunning Tudor Manor House nestled in the charming village of Long Crendon, Berkshire. This historic property, dating back to 1187, is a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort, offering breathtaking views and beautifully appointed rooms. Our stay in the Laline's Bedroom was nothing short of spectacular. The room featured antique furniture, a luxurious four-poster bed, and exposed oak beams, creating an elegant and cozy ambiance. The en-suite bathroom and large flat-screen TV added a touch of modernity without detracting from the room's historic character. We also enjoyed views of the Chiltern Hills and the picturesque courtyard. The breakfast at Long Crendon Manor was a delightful experience. Everything was locally sourced, with some homemade elements, including delicious sausgaes and bacon. The vast dining room, with its period features and warm atmosphere, made breakfast a memorable part of our stay. The manor's amenities and activities added to the charm. The beautiful gardens with a maze and the nearby walking routes provide ample opportunities for relaxation and exploration. The hosts, Tim and Sue, were exceptionally welcoming and ensured our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their warm hospitality, along with the charming presence of their St Bernards, Marmaduke and Molly, made us feel right at home. Overall, our stay at Long Crendon Manor B&B was a delightful blend of history, comfort, and warm hospitality. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a unique and luxurious countryside retreat to head to Long Crendon and stay at the Manor.
