"Great pub, good beers, excellent dinner. Exciting menu with plenty of choice. No disabled facilities"

3.0

Food was excellent and the owners ad staff were very pleasant and obliging

No breakfast, nowhere to hang clothes, noise from kitchen extractor fans. Room was small and the bathroom sink was without a plug.

Our room was very comfortable and well equipped. Bit noisy from nearness to the road and car park. Breakfast was non existent. Were told we should have booked it when we booked the room. This is not at all clear on the Booking.com website. Luckily we had tea making facilities in the room so started our 3 hour journey home home with only a drink. Lunch with a large group of friends was very enjoyable. Interesting choices.

Lack of breakfast. Arrangement for access to the room seemed a bit impersonal-----a key safe. Enjoyed our stay but felt a lack of the personal touch. All locked up when we left so no one to thank or say goodbye to.

"Could have easily been a lot better"

5.0

Location was good. Bar staff very nice.

On arrival there was a function on - luckily for us, as there was no way to get into our room. ( normally the pub would have been closed at this time). Details about where the key was arrived 1 hr after our arrival and even if it had come sooner there was no key left out for us. Due to the 'function' staff were there and were able to locate the room key. Room was small as expected but first night there was a noise in the chimney breast that sounded like a washing machine spinning until approx 6am. Not only did it keep us awake it also had another guest knocking on our door in middle of the night re the noise - he wanted to know if we heard it too and who could he ask to have it sorted. We didn't know. No one available on premises to sort it. We mentioned it the next day to the person who appeared incharge and she dismissed it showing us everything was off , they dismissed it as though we were hearing things!. We noticed from the outside on top of chimney there was a large fan device! Next evening there was no noise. An apology and admitting they had made a mistake by leaving something on would have been understandable and much better than total denial !
