"Recommended pub and hotel in the loveliest of Surrey villages."

8.0

Quaint and charming room. The bed was very comfortable and once the pub emptied sometime after 10pm on Saturday night, there was absolutely no noise at all. The food in the pub was good - not great, but good. Old fashioned English village charm, rather up market little shops and fantastic walks. Staff were very nice and efficient.

Super old building so I understand the reasons for the quirkiness of the room - the bathroom was very small and shower pressure very low.

De ligging, topdorpje, de aankleding van pub en kamers...de charme

De pub zou nog beter zijn indien er wat meer te beleven zou zijn; quiz, ambiance,...

"Et trivelig opphold"

9.0

Sentralt, hyggelig personale, sjarmerende hus, rent

Vi likte det meste, men vi var tre på rommet og synes det var litt lytt mellom soverom og bad

"Perfectly located for the South Downs Way: a lovely stay in an historic building with great food!"

9.0

Very clean bathrooms and spacious bedrooms with coffee making facilities. A light breakfast was included in the rate which I hadn't realised at the time of booking, so that was bonus! We had a late Sunday lunch (beef and a nut roast) which was excellent - homecooked, plenty of veg and great roasties. Very friendly staff. Charlotte looked after us really well and it was good to meet Lisa at breakfast, she couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommended and hope to stay again when in the area.

I may have missed it but I could have done with a small blind or curtain in my room (Longman) as the daylight woke me early. Everything else was great!!

So much character in this small property with very comfortable rooms that are so sweet! Loved the claw footed bath and four poster bed. The whole town was picturesque and beautiful.

Comfy room, good shower, lovely old building, friendly staff.

Breakfast a little underwhelming, but was told no cooked breakfast so no surprises. Coffee good though.

Loved my bangers and mash - beautiful pork sausages locally sourced butcher. Could tell it was cooked with love. My advice is go for a drink, lunch or dinner as the food is wonderful, but avoid the accommodation upstairs.

Was charged an extra £40 on arrival for room I definitely booked for 3 people. I was told I booked for 2 people, which is untrue, then she checked and told me I booked for a baby. Also untrue. I definitely booked for 3 people. I paid because I was worried we would be turned away. A day later I received an email from booking.com stating I was a no show. Also untrue. The smoke alarm went off at 2.30am - we tried to call night porter/land lady. No one answered. Had to get dressed, call fire brigade, all guests had to evacuate outside in village square. Quite worrying.
