The fact that it is in a wonderful location. You are made to feel so, so welcome as you step through the door. It is very traditional and as a wraith of history and stories around it.

"Disappointing"

Lovely location great food and staff .room very poor and dirty and so was the breakfest room hundreds of dead flys stuck in window. Shower very poor and no head room to stand up in room 5

"A lovely stay in a cosy old pub with loads of character. A welcome stop on our Dales Way walk."

The pub is so cosy and old inside….lovely fire and little George the dog on his chair. Room was very spacious, plenty of tea and coffee. Cooked breakfast and pie night were excellent. Really good quality food. Ed was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.

Shower wasn’t great after a long day walking and no bath, but the heating was on so the room was lovely and warm.
