Fox and Pheasant Inn

The location was perfect - quiet, and picturesque. My room was most comfortable, especially the double bed, and it overlooked fields with sheep grazing, and the River Eden. Above the window of my room swifts were nesting in the eaves and I was fascinatied to watch them swooping in to feed their young. The full English breakfast was well cooked and plentiful and set me up for the day. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and anxious to please.

The accommodation provided more than exceeded my expectations. There was nothing lacking.

The location is beautiful. The breakfast was great, though it took a while to arrive at the table.

Small points. No plug in bathroom handbasin.The shower screen let water out.

Location is picturesque Lassie behind bar was very chatty and made you feel welcome Meal at night was good and breakfast was freshly made Bedroom was very clean

Staff were very helpful. The location was lovely and the evening meal was great value for money.

The cooked breakfast was a little over done, but otherwise it was all very good.

Very comfortable room. Big bed with excellent linen. Good toiletries and very good refreshments. Kenco coffee pod machine with lots of choice. Lovely staff with genuine can do attitude. Great menu with enormous portions! Breakfast was a particular success. Nice beers (Robinsons, Hawkshead and regular Guinness and lagers) Plenty of locals supporting the bar and the restaurant - a great sign of a popular place.

Accommodation and location very good. The Dukes Head Inn. 150 yards up the hill after below experience. Brilliant staff brilliant service, superb meal. And for less money, 🤣🤣 The lady who served breakfast knew somehow what had gone on and showed great empathy and was the opposite extreme of the bar member of staff.

The young lady on the bar in the evening was totally useless. We had reserved a table for the evening on arrival, and seen it entered into the diary. When we arrived 7 minutes before the booking a customer walked in and sat at the reserved table. The staff member point blank refused to either look in the diary as requested or speak to the customer. We walked out and went 150 yards up the hill to the Dukes Head Inn. Brilliant staff brilliant service, superb meal. And for less money, 🤣🤣

The location. Set in a delightful village in the Cumbrian countryside. Easy parking opposite. I was very comfortable. I was very well looked after. I wish to thank, the Ladies, who were very caring and supportive toward me.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike.
