Rock View Rest Hatton

the family running the stay are very nice, I booked budget room but I was upgraded to the deluxe room with balcony facing the river at no extra cost. I ended up extending my stay as I liked the Homestay, family and area so much. The included breakfast was delicious and I was given options of what I wanted (not been offered that anywhere else) I had dinner every evening as the home cooked rice and curry was so tasty. plenty of options on day trips and things to do provided by the family. bed super comfy and really nice hot showers. I loved my stay here. I’d definitely stay again

The pictures don’t do the surroundings justice. The house(s) has a ramshackle charm and the setting is top notch, especially for the price. I went swimming in the river my first day and laid out on the rocks. you can hear the waterfalls from your room while you sleep. Ravi is an honest and welcoming host who really makes you’re going to have a good stay. He also has top notch recommendations and thankfully convinced me to stay more than just one night as my only plan in hatton was to hike Adam’s peak. But the Gartmore waterfall and swimming there was a highlight of my trip.

It definitely is ramshackle in a way that is both charming and run down. I didn’t mind it, but I’m the beds and showers aren’t 5 stars.

This is the best place I ever visit Because it's more than our expectation. Also nice view and attract environment. Most important thing is a cleanliness. It was amazing. I recommend that place with 10 stars

This place is amazing, the surroundings are stunning. A beautiful lake and a peaceful river to swim just near the homestay. The town close to the lake is also very nice and i loved the experience of watching the village and being in a place with almost no tourist 😍😍 I felt like home. Ravi and family are such nice people, they took care of me, the showed me the surroundings, they came for me in the Tuk Tuk, and when i left the also drop me in the bus and even told me where to seat in the bus for the best views. Madhu, their daughter was a very good company during my day here. She is going to be a great tourist guide. I hope i Can come back soon ☺️

Ravi and his family welcomed me very warmly, in their house located in front of the river. the place is very relaxing and beautiful (with a view on the river). in the evening, you fall asleep easily to the music of the river. Ravi is very nice and helpful ! He can guide you around the area with his tuktuk, he is also a guide so very useful for hiking and seeing waterfalls! You feel like at home here. The food is prepared by Ravi's wife (Vasanti) and it is very good. The homestay is located on the outskirts of Hatton, so easy to get there by bus from Hatton. The owner can also pick you up from the train or bus station. Surrounded by tea plantations, mountains and magic trees and not far from small villages, this place is perfect for resting or hiking, but also close to Adam's Peak for those who want to climb. Far from the tourist chaos of Hatton and Nallathanniya, you'll discover Sri Lanka in a different way thanks to this little cocoon.

A lovely family who really looked after us. We had planned to go to Adams Peak the day after we arrived but they explained how many people would be there so suggested a day trip to a special waterfall and Adams peak the next. We stayed an extra night to do this. We liked that the price for the waterfall day was all inclusive so we could relax for the whole day without any unexpected offers or cost coming up. This included delicious pancakes for our lunch. The waterfall was breathtaking and the whole day was one of beautiful views proudly shown to us by Ravi. We liked our balcony and the view from our room. We enjoyed all of the food made by Vashanti. Ravi and his daughter Madhu have good English which made communication much easier. The brother Puvan was our driver to Adams peak and we felt very comfortable with his driving.

The family that own this guest house were absolutely amazing, they arranged everything for us for a very reasonable price and made sure we had the best time in Hatton. Not to mention, the rooms are comfortable, clean, and have an idyllic view. The food was also superb. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone travelling to Hatton

Ravi and his family were so welcoming and helped us to organize everything for Adam's peak trek. Nice rooms near the river and delicious sri lankan food !

The owners of this property are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. The whole family made us feel at home and looked after us so well. They picked us up from the train station and then gave us the most incredible 3 days. It was my Birthday and they really went above and beyond to make it special. We booked a 3 day package with them when we arrived which included 2 days of being taken around by tuk tuk of the beautiful tea plantations and waterfalls. (The most beautiful scenery we have seen in Sri Lanka and shouldn’t be missed). Then they took us to Adam’s Peak for sunrise and waited for us at the bottom. The package was so reasonable and included all our food, transportation. Everything was delicious and very smooth. They honestly just wanted us to be happy. There is a beautiful little stream at the bottom of their property which you can swim in and sunbathe on the rocks. I would really recommend staying here and make sure you book 3 nights so that you can see the beauty of the area - not just Adam’s peak.
