The Spread Eagle

Beautiful location, a smaller garden to sit in, next to the river,-plus a garden across the road and a seperate patio area next to the pub. Staff were very friendly and accomodating, food was very well cooked and reasonably priced. Room was surprisingly spacious and a bonus of a bath, which was very welcome after a hot and sweaty motorbike ride. Decor was lovely and the whole place was clean and tidy and looked well cared for.

If on a motorbike, be prepared for nowhere to chain the bike to in the public car park. Not their fault and they were very helpful whilst we came up with a plan. Not a criticism at all, just an observation.

Bedroom, the set up, staff very friendly ideal location and the breakfast was fantastic, cater for dogs which is always nice

Not sure whose fault this is? When you book through booking.com you let them know you have a dog etc and you get quoted a price for your stay what I didn’t want to see was an extra £10 charge for the dog when I checked in, this needs to be addressed, you go on budget so you plan £10 on top it’s like a hidden charge so between the hotel and booking.com they need to get that sorted 👊🏻

Location! Beautiful large room approximately 7.5 x 6 paces for the main room. The bath looked very inviting, but I overslept. Lovely view of the river and despite being a pub, fairly quiet. A discount seems to have been applied, presumably for being a lone occupant, making this the cheapest stay on my NC500 trip from Cornwall, and the second nicest.

Crossing the road requires care. Can I suggest someone pastes the lovely wallpaper back to the top corner! :-)

Friendly staff, good food. Did one of the walks from the property which was really good.

Everything! Lovely rooms and massive bed. Very clean. Food was delicious. Had most beautiful view of the river. Wouod definitely recommend. Staff were very friendly and professional.

No power socket near a mirror in bedroom. Would be better to have small milk jugs for breakfast table rather than on massive one that you keep having to walk to every time you want to top up yiur tea.
