Attached dwelling unit. Two bedrooms fully furnished. Quiet. Beautiful surroundings. The unit could use a good dusting and shakedown. Otherwise it was perfect!

The unit could use a good spring cleaning. It was quite dusty. Otherwise it was perfect!

"a wonderful off the beaten path destination"

10.0

A hidden gem for sure !!! This place is amazing, the peaceful sound of the creek running through the canyon, extremely clean, comfortable and full of treasures, Old West mixed with a European flair. The claw foot bath tub was so relaxing. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back.

we didn’t mind because we were already aware but make sure to bring your own food or snacks

"We will be back!"

10.0

We met with David on arrival. Straight away we loved the location and charm of the place. The peace and nostalgia of era gone by just took my breath away. This is a place where a family once thrived, and still does. So far off the beaten path you gain an immense amount of respect for their chosen life. The moment I walked in to the house, I could feel the memories there. The books, the furniture, the geraniums in the windows! I felt so far away from traffic and noise. We will be back! (The skunk slayers)...:) Frandin

I didn't like that we had to leave so soon. Imagine life there in the 1860's, it causes you to want to know more, to embrace what once was. How does someone survive out here during the thriving time period? We have a great respect for David and his family. (Plus Dash, the best dog). Thank you again!

"Off the beaten path, rustic and totally disconnected. Not for you? Don’t go."

8.0

Unfortunately, breakfast is no longer served, but we were asked by Dave if we planned to use the fully equipped kitchen. I won’t say for certain, but you could probably make arrangements to use the kitchen by calling ahead. Talking to Dave about his father and the story of how they came to be at Unionville was amazing for a WWII US Navy/war in the Pacific buff like me. There are pictures of his Dad, his aircraft and Navy pilot training certificate in the house- those points totally made it for me. I truly think that I could talk about stuff like that with Dave for hours, but he does live and work on a working farm with a lot to do, so unfortunately, that opportunity didn’t present itself. The house is rustic and without internet, but we actually enjoyed being able to disconnect. We were totally comfortable and slept well.
