Very very off grid

The location is excellent and the hotel itself is interesting. However, the cleanliness and service need significant improvement. The staff’s uniforms were dirty, and the overall hygiene was disappointing. Breakfast was very poor—there was almost nothing available, not even bread. The dining area and the library’s recreation area were not clean. In addition, the staff were unfriendly. I hope these issues will be addressed to improve the overall experience. Also There is no cell phone service, and the internet does not work.

Great quiet place to stay, and amazing views!

See below. The breakfast was not good. The restaurant that was supposed to provide it had just shut down and the closest town is 30 miles away. A young man sort of cooked bacon and eggs, but he is really the farm animals carer. They were very disorganized about the breakfast preparation…one box of cereal, a few breakfast bread choices that ran out, and no milk the last morning. There didn’t seem to be any oversight to cope with the change in their circumstances.

See above. On the very positive side, the inn itself was very nice. The location is spectacular…remote with beautiful views of the farm and hills. Our room was large and very clean. It was creatively decorated as an imperial era European bedroom. I really appreciated the chair and couch and the adequate lighting. The shower was equipped with safety features and the water temperature and pressure were great. There is a fabulous library with big leather chairs and warm throws for reading in the evenings. Interacting with the horses and donkeys was a treat. Be warned…because the inn is in a federal quiet zone due to its proximity to a radio telescope, there is no mobile phone or internet service.

Not their fault but the one close location to eat dinner was not open even the menu in room indicated they’d be open on Wedn.
