The Woodman Inn

We stayed for two nights over the Easter weekend and overall had a good experience. Breakfast was fair for the price, though there’s room for improvement. The staff were great and provided everything we needed. Dinner options were more limited than what was shown on the menu, likely due to an unexpected number of guests in the afternoon.

We stayed in a wheelchair‑accessible room, even though we didn’t require one, which was completely fine given availability. However, the door didn’t seem to open in a way that would be practical for someone using a wheelchair. The mirrors were placed low, which is understandable for accessibility, but it would be helpful to also have a taller mirror for guests who aren’t wheelchair users.

The bed was comfortable and the pillows and the wardrobe was nice

The heating didn't work and I was freezing, the shower had a 3 page manual so didn't bother having one, I was given 1 small milk, and the smell outside was awful! TV was so tiny for the room I couldn't see anything

Very good, food. Cooked to an excellent quality.

Small things, such as small spoons for the yogurt pots not soup spoons. small jugs for milk when serving tea. Keeping the restaurant at a comfortable temperature, not extremely hot.

The owner was very helpful and friendly. The kitchen was meant to close at 17:00 on the Sunday, but he had a word with the cook and anytime up to 19:00 was fine. Very good selection on the menu and delicious food. Room was in a separate building at the back in motel style that was quiet and comfortable.

The information we were sent said that the restaurant was open until 20:00. This needs updating. (All other restaurants in the area seem to close at 16:00 on a Sunday)

easy check in, room very comfortable and clean. well lit, plenty tea and coffee. staff very polite, enough parking for the stay menu was good, good value for money, food was cooked to perfection. had to wait a bit for breakfast, that was the only downer, only myself waiting, 20 minutes. overall the pub and accommodation was very good, i think in summer, the place will be busy. definitely value for money
