" This rustic inn and resort offers comfortable rooms with modern amenities including free Wi-Fi, mini refrigerators, coffee makers, and cable TV. Whitney's inn offers a heated outdoor pool and lounge area with yard games such as ping pong, horseshoes and cornhole. In the summer and fall the outdoor fishing pond is open for guests to enjoy kayaking, fishing and campfires. Breakfast is not offered at Whitney's inn. Dinner is served in the family friendly Shovel Handle Pub Wednesday - Friday from 5:00pm - 10:00pm. Dinner is not offered any other days. Local attractions include Black Mountain Ski area less than 1 mile away and Story Land amusement park less than 4 miles away.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian. A deposit may be required at the property.

Staff went above the call for our stay. We were there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed here 25 years ago when we decided to get married. Joe upgraded our room and made us feel welcome.

We are hikers and like to get an early start. The late breakfast time had us fending for ourselves. Luckily there was a coffee machine in the room.

"All and all good for a one and done time experience. But wouldn’t come back."

The location and time of year for change of seasons was great.

Room was small, bathroom smaller. Heater didn’t work, problem with electrical. Had to use space heater, did the job eventually.

Prepacked grab and go, we didn't take any.

The bed was super high. Luckily my husband and I are tall. The air conditioner was extremely loud. I think it was probably on its way out.

"Very cute and quaint place to stay."

Loved the bar being attached to the hotel! Music was very good and appropriate for a ski lodge.

Grab and go breakfast was underwhelming - granola bars and prepackaged muffins. Coffee cups were also very small. Menu in pub wasn’t great - very limited.
