" This rustic inn and resort offers comfortable rooms with modern amenities including free Wi-Fi, mini refrigerators, coffee makers, and cable TV. Whitney's inn offers a heated outdoor pool and lounge area with yard games such as ping pong, horseshoes and cornhole. In the summer and fall the outdoor fishing pond is open for guests to enjoy kayaking, fishing and campfires. Breakfast is not offered at Whitney's inn. Dinner is served in the family friendly Shovel Handle Pub Wednesday - Friday from 5:00pm - 10:00pm. Dinner is not offered any other days. Local attractions include Black Mountain Ski area less than 1 mile away and Story Land amusement park less than 4 miles away.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. The property is in a great location and the Shovel Handle Pub had tons of character, great food and live music.

I’ve stayed at the Whitney Inn before but stayed on the main property, which is fantastic. The rooms are warm and cozy with a great mountain vibe. LOVED it. This trip we stayed in one of the cottages which I felt lacked in the charm and warmth of the main hotel. It was comfortable but just didn’t compare to staying in one of the rooms in the main hotel. Not bad but I’d much rather stay in one of the other rooms.

Location was wonderful to see sights in the area

There is currently construction on the ski lifts so there are big machines taking up a lot of space and there is noise from the project they are working on. The noise starts at about 8am. I am not certain as to when it ends as we go exploring for the day and intentionally don't return until after dinner.

Nettes kleines Hotel mit sehr freundlichen Personal. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und sehr charmant eingerichtet. Das Badezimmer ist allerdings winzig. In die Ortschaft Jackson benötigt man ca. 2 Minuten mit dem Auto. Nebenan gibt es ein Pub. Parkplätze vorm Haus.
