The Half Moon

Excellent scrambled egg and smoked salmon for breakfast. A bit limited on cereal and no yoghurt or fruit. Room was fine, wife found the bed too hard, the toilet really needed a toilet roll holder.

Payment and pricing issues: A mix up over my planned donation towards cost of lunch for 11 relatives. This had been approved beforehand as I understood it, but could not be done in one sum at the venue because the till would not then be able to progress the 2 course offer. Had to pay on 5 separate occasions as relatives paid - when it was planned to be an 'on the quiet' donation. Also, I was told beforehand that the 2 course offer only applied to main plus dessert, whereas around the pub the signs uo said '2 courses for £25'. Only when paying did we learn that the pie of the day was not included in the 2 course offer. Main meal was fine - since it was a fun but rare family meet-up - but as not unusual with larger parties dining, the main course meat+veg was not hot enough.

We did find the stairs up to the room very steep

Personalet og frokosten var strålende, men rommet var i middels standards. Stille og rolig, fint område for å gå seg en tur. Helt ok for en natt eller to.

Badet var datert, med grelt lys og dårlig trykk i dusjen. Sengene var ikke spesielt komfortable. Møbleringen var lite funksjonell. Trangt og ukoselig i korridoren opp til rommet.

Very hospitable and we arrived later than planned and they agreed to cook a meal in advance which was kind of them
