"Overpriced but did the job"

5.0

In a nice location. Plenty of parking space.

Room is nothing like the opulence of the photographs. The room was tired, with missing paint on the desk, bouncy creaking floor, dirty ceiling, just generally a bit scruffy in places. Certainly nowhere near the worst I’ve stayed in but for the price I don’t think it is good enough. It’s expensive purely due to the location and it is expected that everything should be expensive. I didn’t try the breakfast after reading the reviews, instead I drove to the Premier Inn less than two miles away. The rest of the pub and the corridors are nice and clean and look to be maintained, it’s just a shame the room let it down.

"Lovely property in great location but in need of some TLC. Prices for drink/food punchy but execution isn’t up to sc"

5.0

An aesthetically pleasing pub in a lovely location with onsite parking. Very good shower

The mattress in room 12 needs changing, very uncomfortable, fortunately duvet and pillow were good but the mattress was awful, felt like you were lying on the slant. Big room but lots of cobwebs above the dressing table, light in bathroom cabinet broken. Food was ok, nothing special, first morning I had breakfast, wasn’t really clear what you could have, breakfast was included but was given a menu with prices on, I assumed could have anything but it wasn’t really explained. Additionally I don’t know if I could have had any pastries or juice as the girl didn’t say and didn’t get an opportunity to ask. There was one other couple in for breakfast, my food was ready and chef called for service 3 times before she brought the food out. Where was she? Poached eggs were pretty cold but I was hungry and had a long day ahead so I ate it. I didn’t bother with breakfast the second morning, went to check-out, but no one around so left key on the counter. Had someone been around I’d have mentioned certainly about the mattress in person.

"Good value for money , clean and well furnished."

8.0

We had a complimentary upgrade which we were not expecting. Really comfortable extra large bed and surreal bathroom. Good choice at breakfast including various cooked breakfasts all freshly cooked . Evening meal good value for money . Dog friendly with bed and bowl available. Have stayed here a number of times and still just as good . Lovely walk round the area in Bollin Valley .

Car park entrance tight but had stayed here before .

"Overall, it was a comfortable and convenient stay with excellent food."

10.0

The property was clean, comfortable, and in a great location, and we really enjoyed the great breakfast and dinners.

The room was a good size, but there was some noise at night coming from other rooms, though nothing too disruptive.

"Not a four star hotel and certainly not recently refurbished!!"

1.0

Location for prestbury village excellent. That is the only good thing about this hotel

The hotel is definitely not recently refurbished as stated by booking.com. also definitely not 4 star. The hotel is very tired infact dirty. Cobwebs on most walls in the restaurant. Most of the light fittings only have 1 working bulb. We stayed in the main part of the hotel. Rooms are very dark and dusty. Dark probably to hide a lot of problems with the room. The windows are very old I believe its a graded building but the glass was all smashed on two of the bedroom windows and very very dirty. The hotel states it is dog friendly which is fine dont have a problem however I do have a problem with dogs being in the restaurant while having breakfast they should be a designated area for dogs. One lady took her dog to the table while she choice her cereals pastries etc with the dog jumping up at the food. The hotel is in a beautiful village however it is an eye sore. A really shame. Avoided. I didn't take any pictures which I feel I should have to show how bad the hotel was.
